Cooking bread with no oven

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Mar 2023, 04:13

When I am still a kid, My parents bans me from using oven because it increases electric bill. Then coal ovens is seen as waste of firewood.

Well there is a way to make bread without ovens, It can be helpful if you are broke and want to save money from bills or you are too poor to afford ovens. Also it can let you escape from inflation because making your own bread is cheaper than buying bread.

The first are flat breads. Flat breads can be done with a griddle or a frying pan. Two of the most popular flat breads are tortilla and roti.

Roti

tortilla

Ukrainians are dealing with war and war causes blackouts, making them unable to use electric ovens. They manage to make bread using frying pans!

I just tried the Ukrainian bread recipe and its good. Better than white bread! It is just flour, yeast, water and sugar.

I am not sure how the bread would be like if not cooked using the oven. I hope it doesn't loose it's taste.

I know it is possible to make bread in a frying pan and despite I have some recipes, I haven't tried it yet. I wonder how long it takes to be ready.

If it cooks in a minute, then it is not expensive to cook it. I don't have a flat bread receipt though..

The recipes are all over Youtube, its easy to do. I had been enjoying tacos without going to a mexican restaurant.
flatbread is just flour, oil, salt and water. I learned in an hour. My country also its own flatbread.

Thank you, I will try to find one and then I share here how did it go. I am already thinking about the things I can put inside the flat bread, like eggs, avocado or olive oil and tomato...

I LOVE bread <3 I could never give it up for anything. So I'd love to learn how to make it. This weekend I discovered very delicious Indian bread the name of which I can never remember. But it's a type of flat that I want to learn how to make. Not roti or naan.

You would save money baking your bread at home and it will be healthier and sweeter than spending more outside but getting some tasteless bread

I don't have an oven, we don't really like to eat bread. Occasionally, if I want toast, I buy plain bread and bake it with Teflon. Even though we could buy toast at the vendors who were traveling, but if I baked it myself with Teflon I could save more money.

This is about saving money, so you should try the way of saving. Buying and baking with oven is not that much saver.
