I have amassed a wide variety of music over the years and have it all loaded on my computer, an iPod and my cell phone. I like to have it all play at random until I have heard every song before it begins again.
Since it all comes up at random, I never know what will come up next and I have it playing most of the time. Even so, there is enough in the collection that I only hear each tune maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I have taken the time to delete album selections that I really don't like and as a result only hear the songs I enjoy.
The mix includes classical music from the 1600s to the early 1900s. I have a collection of popular tunes from each decade from the 1920s to the 1990s. There are somewhere around 35 different genres and selections from over 100 countries in the mix. There is no radio broadcast that can compete and I never hear advertising since it is all in my own collection.
Even with all that, I probably don't even have 1% of what is still out there. I always enjoy hearing something new (to me) when it becomes available and just might add it to my collection if I like it.
I do not have and do not like the noise that they call music these days, especially the fowl mouth rap that is full of nasty talk and swearing. If it riles you up and just makes you angry, why even listen to it? I'd rather listen to music that keeps me happy.
