There are many sites available which are helping us to book hotels at cheaper rates.

Though these commercial sites claim that they can book a room at the cheapest rate, I personally found that we can get the hotel rooms at much reduced rates when there is off rates!

What is your experience?

Have you ever used any sites like 'Trivago' for booking a room in hotel?

These days when everything is available online the hotel aggregators are not far behind. Actually these sites made search of hotels so easy nowadays.
Before going anywhere I always visit them to check the availability of rooms at the destination. One can get a glimpse of the rooms and facilities available through these sites.
The best part of these sites are the fact that you always get the best price on offer.

Well, this is something want to do but I have never done. When I am visiting, I always take a cue from travel book. Perhaps, by using the recommendation on the travel book, I am paying more.

Yeah, I use MMT (makemytrip) for hotel bookings and get great discounts on it.

These sites can actually give a bigger discount if you are a member. Sometimes hotels would also advise their customers to book through those commercial sites/agents. We just have to play smart sometimes when booking.

Yes, I too had similar experience where I was asked to book the room through the agent. I reaally failed to understand the reason behind it. In fact I had fabulous offers when I approached the hotels in person than the discount offered by the agents!

I have booked hotel through Make My Trip and I got really good offer and discount. I have not used any other online sites so far.

plane ticket but on hotels, I do it personally when I arrive on my destination.

Everything seems to be easy for it is facilitated through the use of modern technology particularly the advent of this Internet. I have heard a lot of this thing but I haven't tried it yet. What I have known from my daughter who is working abroad that she gets her airplane reservation through Internet and she avails of the cheap price. Now she's home.

We are regular travelers to foreign countries like 3 times a year or more. We are always using booking dot com which is very convenient. I discovered that booking at hotel online can get you a discount which is better than direct booking to the site of the hotel.

I never booked any hotels. I do have stayed in hotels while attending certain meeting or competitions but the hotels were provided by the committee .
