Emergency funds or the insurance services will do. As long as you can save money you can start your savings plan. Not all people able to do savings because their money is just enough for foods, etc.

I live in rented apartment. So I try to use things which are more of movable. Laptop is one such thing. I prefer higher spec laptop which usually costs 800$ or so.
