Have you tried using an abacus(plural abaci or abacuses)?

Postby Strawberry18 » 26 Jun 2018, 09:44

Hello how are you today people? I just finished my late lunch while im now sitting in front of my computer. I just had my favorite dinuguan(pork blood stew)and of course as usual a rice. Okay guys i would like to share you about a part of my childhood which is what i called "abacus". Have you used this before? Are you an abacist?

Don't tell me youre not familiar of this because we often see this before especially during 80's or even earlier. We have it in school before when im still in preschool though they're colorful and bigger.

Abacus- 1350–1400; Middle English Latin: board, counting board, reformed Greek ábax

I remember my dad trying to teach me how to use it but i hardly learned, i even use it as a vehicle toy before as i rode on top of while i slide the beads on the floor.

Anyone here knows how to use this? please share thanks

Yes, Elementary years I used to have one too. Before when we were just kids we just think that its just a toy and enjoy the sound it does. Hahaha. Maybe I was already in Grade 4 that make me realize that it was not just a toy but a traditional Calculator hahaha. I know you can relate too.

I did not use abacus even once and I do not know also how to use it. I was just really amazed when some can use it to compute large sums of numbers and they compute it very fast with accuracy. Never really imagine how useful this thing is, I just thought before when I'm a kid that this is some kind of toy. :)
