you can learn skills from self study, however, in order to enhance your skills you need formal trainings. Formal trainings will teach you tricks of the trade. You will also meet people like you when you attend formal training.

The basic writing skill was acquired in school and my offline work. But writing for an online site is a different thing. I learned by reading the work of others. I searched Google for anything that I don't understand and read different articles and watch videos. Moreover, practice is equally important in honing a skill.

I am a teacher by profession, I teach language and pedagogy. Since I studied language and pedagogy, I acquired my skills by learning in the university. I had to write a lot of papers as a student, therefore, my writing skills were developed when I was studying.

Youtube is a great platform to learn. However, you have to choose tutorial videos wisely.

I learned my skills from my own hard works and efforts. My skills are based on video editing, logo making, photo editing, and etc. Those skills I have learned from my own. At first, it was a bit hard, but when you extract some efforts, it will become easier than you think.

What skills?

lol... Anyway. Most of them where learned through trial and error.
IMO on field experience is the best way to learn.

You can read all you want about let's say online marketing, but then murphy's law applies and you screwed.
So If that is what you into, start small with things you can afford to loose. Invest 10$ see how much value you can get back from that, see the analyrics and so on.

I don't know that I have much in the way of skills. I learned to type and do shorthand at college. English always came naturally to me at school, I have a couple of A levels but apart from that everything else has been learned from experience in every day living.

Various different ways really. My biggest help was actually Google Page Source. It helped me look at the HTML and CSS of various sites and that is why I know quite a bit about HTML.

I think I could have learned more skills, but I didn't find the time to do it.I was thinking as a web designer or a programmer is already much competition on the market already, and there is no use learning those skills.

From forums, friends and some blogs. My husband comes a s a big help whenever needed. I am not so tech friendly and so keep reading and listening to people. Then I try, make mistake, ask for help, explore and learn. ;)
