* * Yes it is allowed. Have you not looked at other people's posts at Niume and seen them put the link in? It's usually at the bottom of the post where they redirect you to their blog.

By the way, you can Edit your posts at Niume. Some sites won't allow it.

* * You don't know how to use the publishing tool. If you highlight the text, a little black bar pops up on the screen and gives you options. One of those options is for a link. Click on it, add your link, hit enter and you should see your linked text. If you see other at the site people are doing it, you know there has to be a way. Keep experimenting and learning. You'll figure it out. I don't think they have a tutorial. I never looked because I already knew how to use the platform. Niume.com is similar to Medium.com and I had already published at Medium before I started with Niume.

Hope this helps. :)

* * Medium is not a paying site. It is still being developed by the owners and exactly how they will use this platform is undecided. At present, writers are invited and you are allowed to republish content. If the link in your content leads back to your site which is monetized, then indirectly it is a paying site.

* * Even though the revenue system was discontinued at Niume, some of my fellow bloggers have continued with the site. I decided to keep my posts published there and every now and then I publish new original content.

The majority of my posts are republished content and at the end of each post, there is a link to direct (or redirect) readers to my blogs which are monetized.

The Niume folks tweet my posts. I really appreciate that. Niume has multiple Twitter accounts and they have thousands of followers. For example, Niume Food has over 17,000 followers. The official account has over 85,000 followers. So when they pick one of your posts and tweet, it increases the possibility of more traffic – first to your posts and then to your blog.

Not only can my posts contain links back to my monetized blogs, but my profile has a link back to my main blog as well. Niume has pretty good Alexa ranking which means my blogs, which are outbound links from the site, can feed off its link juice. In other words, it helps the search engine find my websites and blogs.

Not trying to persuade anybody to see it my way. I know others decided to exercise their option to download their content and publish elsewhere. But I think I will stay a little while longer and see how things pan out. For now, it's working for me.

P.S. Did anybody notice the Donate Buttons were removed?

I've kept my account open so I might try to use it that way. Including links in my Virily posts hasn't been helping so I'm not likely to continue sharing them there.

Even at Blogjob, there are lots of writers who stayed on the site because of backlinks and they have affiliate marketing now included in the blog. The site allows it. I am not sure if we let the owner know. At Niume, backlinks have been there even when the site was paying.

I may be wrong but I think that would be a violation of Amazon's affiliate policy. Niume doesn't have a notice warning people that their members may be earning money from Amazon affiliate advertising, and that's required on any page where their ads appear.

* * You make a good point. Affiliate advertising disclosure is required and not just for Amazon. Niume does not have a Disclosure Statement.

If you have your own blog just make sure you out the disclosure statement on it, in plain view for visitors to see. Many people usually place the statement at the bottom of their website.
