Orange Sky Laundry

Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi from Brisbane, Australia turned their old van as first Mobile washing laundry for people living in streets, the laundry name as “Orange sky Laundry” and they have arranged a generator for power in public places. The street people cannot have facility to wash their cloths, blankets etc etc.

They are washing 20 Kilograms(44 pounds) cloths per hour, Orange sky was operated as trial basis 5 days a week various public places in Brisbane. They are collecting water from local parks and business establishments. Nearly 300 people are living in streets of Brisbane. They are planning to become partners local food group to provide some ea-tables. This organization wish to spread all over the Australia by the end of 2015.

Is it a charity service, or do they charge for laundry?

Hi Fergal,

It is free service they do not charge for washing cloths and blankets. If the street person pay money any body can wash it. But here Orange Sky Laundry wash the cloths free.

It's sad that humanity is spending trillions on war (almost 2 trillion around the world, I believe), while many don't have access to basic necessities such as clean food, water, and clothes.

It looks like this group is catering just to the homeless? This service needs to be extended to those who live in poverty and cannot afford to run water or electricity often. Definitely an inspiring story. :)

You are right, who is taking care of poor and down trodden. See the lives of people in Africa there are children are lack of food lot of children were died.

Still there is humanity in the people, but when it come out come we do not know. We may also do help poor and homeless what ever possible to us.
