Saying sorry is not a miracle cure that will instantly make all the pain disappear. It's like water in a desert that flows quickly but footprints remain in the sand. There are people who hear sorry and they cool down and agree to move on, but others say sorry is not enough and they cut off contact completely. As the Chinese say, a small stone starts a big fall. So a small word can bring about a big change. I like to say sorry often because it is a small step that builds great peace.
