Yesterday Saturday my wife and I attended our Branch 1 Family Home Evening. Several members of Church were present. My granddaughter, Aja, from my eldest daughter Dona Greece was one of the 4 resource speakers. She talked about the importance of Family history.

Before the conclusion of the said Family gathering in our Meetinghouse here, I shared my testimony about my experiences in working with my own family hustory. It's only 3rd generation for I couldn't work out my 1st to 2nd generation. All my records I got l uploaded to Family Tree online.

It was worth so much and I felt happy about it and blessed. How you work out your own family lineage or family tree?

There is still so much i do not know about my family and my lineage in general, this is something i need to work on.

My grandma and grandpa are cousins because its a muslim thing (gross)

My parents try to arrange marry me to a cousin and I refuse. They stopped convincing me when I moved out

When it comes to making a family tree, people use different methods. Some collect names from family elders sitting together and asking for stories of ancestors. Others use local libraries or church records. There are also online platforms like FamilySearch or Ancestry that help connect generations. It is a process of digging little by little and as the Chinese say, one drop of water can dig a stone so even the smallest record you find can open the door to a great lineage.

So it is patience and consistency. You put together names, pictures and stories and slowly you build a family tree that becomes a reference for future generations.
