Taking Care Of You! Not Even Coupons Needed!

Postby Spontaneo » 13 Apr 2025, 17:27

Self-care does not mean an expensive spa getaway. Just take a few deep breaths on a stressful day. Self-care can be as simple, easy and as totally free as you want it to be!

Organize your home so that you feel calm when you are alone. Whenever my house is immaculate, nobody shows up. When my house is a wreck? People always show up! So, I just pretend that I am impressing myself and that I am important. There is a lady on YouTube called Clutterbug who teaches on doing 5-minute tidy-ups.

Get more sleep.

Munch on fresh fruit. Personally, I like vegetables better.

Be a hug monster! Doing so lessens pain, depression and anxiety. I like the motto: Hugs Not Drugs!

Drink spa water (also known as fruit-infused water). Cucumber is the best! I love cucumber water! Yes, they sell fruit-infused water bottles but if you do not have a fruit-infused water bottle or cannot afford, just grab a jar or nice-sized glass, fill with chilled water and plop in some pieces of cucumber! Use a straw too!

Count your blessings. Every day I pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede for my loved ones and myself.

Text a friend. Personally, last night, a good friend told myself to text whenever I want. That made myself feel good and loved!

Do a pedicure. I have always wanted a professional pedicure. I always ask my podiatrist to make my toenails pretty but he chops my toenails up. Men. I wonder if my insurance would cover pedicures? I hope so!

Play your favorite song. I have 2 favorites. #1 is “Saying Something Stupid” by Sinatra and #2 “It’s A Beautiful Day” by U2.

Drink tea. No, tea does not dehydrate you. Tea counts as your daily water intake! They always say that green tea is the best, but I prefer black, especially black iced tea!

Buy a neat journal and write down what made your day every day. I need to take up this suggestion. I only buy legal pads for note-taking. They usually say to write down the bad things that happen every day.

Clear out clutter. Donate what you do not want!

Book a girlfriend night and laugh. Doing so releases endorphins! The closest thing to a girlfriend night out that I get is late-night grocery shopping with my roommate!

Take a course in something new. Personally, my education is in Political Science and in Fitness and Nutrition. I really want to take up Aromatherapy. I just do not know.

Create a mantra. I have had the same personal mantra for years. My mantra is “You Only Grow Old If You Want To”!

Are they that hard? You do not even need coupons!

Organizing your home is an easy way to find peace and quiet when you're alone. By keeping everything in its place and reducing unnecessary items, you get a clean space and fresh air to give you peace. You can also create a place to relax and read or listen to music to help your mind calm down. A well-organized home gives you a sense of security and comfort, and makes your alone time enjoyable and meaningful.

I like to have an organized fridge and freezers. A good way to get rid of stress and very healthy.

A professional pedicure is a beautiful thing, the feet become clean and the nails shine, but often podiatrists are more concerned with health than beauty, which is why they cut nails without regard to style. Insurance often does not cover pedicures because they see them as a luxury and not a treatment, so the person is left paying for them themselves.

It's like the story of Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty who loved everything to be beautiful. A pedicure gives you that feeling of beauty and tranquility, but you have to know your costs and don't expect insurance to pay for it because for them it's like pampering and not the best treatment. Prepare yourself and enjoy your feet shining like gold.

People have been giving my roommate and I food for the holiday. So, something had to be done.

I am always the one that organizes the fridge and freezer.

Yesterday, I nicely asked my roommate to organize.

To be honest with you, I wanted space for my huge batch of pasta salad for the holiday.

Since I am having Thanksgiving alone with the roommate's pet cat, I guess do it with good food!

When the roommate was finished organizing, she yelled for myself to come to the kitchen. All nice and neat!

The roommate was proud of herself.

;) ;)

Eating fresh fruits is really cool but I like vegetables more. Vegetables are great because they have fresh nutrients and help the body stay light and energized. Fruits are also sweet and give you natural sugar but vegetables are versatile and you can cook them in many styles. It's just important to eat a balance of everything but my preference is for vegetables. At the end of the day it's a lifestyle choice and everyone has their own vibe of fresh food.

Lately, people have been showing myself things that I did not need "coupons" for!

For example, people used to give myself lentils. I would refuse to cook or consume the lentils.

Now? I am addicted to the darn things! I can buy a pound for $1.25 at Dollar Tree!

Tons of fiber!

Haha that's a real transformation. There was a time when you couldn't even touch lentils but now they've become your addiction. It's funny how taste buds change and how we can start liking something we used to completely reject. Lentils are also full of nutrients so your addiction is much healthier.

People have been bringing rotweilers to the cafe. I am terrified of such dogs. The people don't understand.

I have one friend who they listen to.

So, last Tuesday, before Christmas, the people left their rotweillers at home.

If only the people would do this every week!
