Loosing one' s appetite for food

Postby bestwriter » 25 Oct 2025, 02:33

For a foodie losing one's appetitie seems the end of the world I am a foodie and always with a good appetite But recently I had a stomach upset due to indigestion and that meant discomfort in the stomach, problems with bowel movement, no appetitie and no hunger. For a foodie that I am that meant disaster.

It took me a few days to set it right and when the appetite came back it called for celebration.

Have you experienced this?

When I was a teenager, I loved pizza. But now, I'm starting to lose interest on pizza. I don't enjoy it as I used to. It felt heavy for me. I don't know why. I used to enjoy pizza, but something in my body just changed. I rather have a stew with some rice or bread than a bread with toppings and cheese.

Your body seems to decide for you rather than letting you choose. It is recommending bland food for you and that is indeed sad :D

I completely understand that this is not normal for someone who loves food. Losing appetite is like the world stopping for a moment. The stomach refuses to cooperate and everything becomes a nuisance, even the smell of food is irritating.

I also went through a similar situation after eating food that made me feel bad. Three days without an appetite is like torture. I tried ginger water and a lot of rest. Slowly the body started to get back to normal and the appetite started to slowly return.

The day I felt hungry again I laughed to myself. I cooked rice and beans and ate them happily. When the body returns to its normal state, it is a blessing. We should thank our body for its patience.

It's very sad to know, certain diseases keeping us away from food. Indigestion is almost disease of short term you'll feel ok soon.

Even that plain rice and beans must have tasted great with the appetite returned.

It is true that diseases that deprive us of the joy of eating are a sad thing. Food is not only a physical need but also a part of social life and daily happiness. When you fail to eat well, even your mood can suffer.

But when it comes to indigestion, there is hope. It is often a temporary condition caused by a heavy meal or a change in the body's metabolism. Rest, drinking lukewarm water, and eating slowly can help a lot. Some find relief with ginger or chamomile tea.

Absolutely, I can relate! Nothing can dampen a foodie’s spirit quite like a loss of appetite. Glad to hear you’re back to enjoying your meals!
