Europe build military factorys very fast

Postby mrki444 » 28 Aug 2025, 16:39

In the last two years, the European defense industry has experienced a dramatic revival. Satellite data shows that weapons factories are expanding three times faster than in peacetime, with more than seven million square meters of new industrial facilities. This trend marks profound structural changes in Europe's defense strategy, fueled by public subsidies and geopolitical uncertainty. It seems that Europe is waking up and unfortunately preparing for a new world or local war. In fact, every war becomes a world war, at least in the economic field.

Is Europe on the threshold of a new era of military industrialization?
Should the EU continue on this path or find alternative defense models?

Personally, I do not favor wars. Nor aggressive posturing.
However, from what we have in India witnessed with a tricky neighborhood, what Europe has seen with Trump 2.0, Russia-Ukraine war and what is happening elsewhere, I see major investments in Defense Tech across the world.

However, I find certain things amusing.
For e.g- Russia supplies weapons to China, India and Turkey and many more.
During recent times, while we have known that China has a border dispute with India and does not wants India to rise too much or fast, Turkey has taken anti Indian positions.

Similarly, Pakistan buys American weapons and US has also exported attack helicopters to India.
Things can be confusing at times but what I have seen and learnt is that there are no permanent friends & foes in International diplomacy.

There will must be war, few smaller or third world war. Unfortunately all those factorys will make weapons and weapons must be spend somewhere.

Plus if somehow one country faces instability, the weapons can even land up with rogue players - private Militia, mercenaries, Terror groups etc.

I completely agree that wars and posturing do not bring peace but the reality of the world now is like a desert with strong winds, you have to build a strong tent. India has tricky neighbors. Europe has seen Trump 2.0. Russia, Ukraine is still igniting the fire and the global scene is full of tension. So defense tech has become like a well of water sought by every nation for survival. And as the Chinese say, a single drop of water can drill a stone. So even a small investment in defense technology can change the balance of power and bring pure deterrence.
