ToTW Is Twitter worth sharing content if you want website traffic?

Postby kat82 » 30 May 2025, 09:10

I read that WordPress has a direct to Twitter automatic share whenever you publish new content on WordPress. I tried it but looks it is no longer a free feature on the Twitter side. Since it is about paying, I am curious to know if indeed Twitter is worth when it comes to sending traffic to a particular website if you start sharing your content. Have you tried sharing your content on Twitter and the traffic impact it has?

You can make money with twitter itself. Subcribe to twitter blue then have controversial statements that will piss people off and the more the offended people replies, the more money you make

Now you are talking. That seems to be the trick influencers are using. Hoo I have been following small accounts write controversial statements and getting lots of engagements. How much is Twitter blue? 💙

If your target audience is active on Twitter, sharing content there can lead to meaningful engagement.

I used to make an effort before Elon Musk took over. I feel since he did, things aren't quite the same. It's the same with Facebook. It's sensored, yet they push certain agendas. I never go on X and very seldom log into Facebook. I'm now on a Chinese social media site where we can freely talk s*** and share our opinions without fear.

Being regular on Twitter and sharing content again and again does helps although the trickle down effect does takes time.
I think Instagram could be better but somehow I have never liked the too much of Artificial kind of ambience that is there on Instagram.
May be that makes me the odd one out in certain respects.

Did you try just copy paste website link in twitter status? If you used some plugin, maybe share become premium option. Try direct way.

It can bring some visitors to your website if you have followers and share interesting content often.

I believe all of us share interesting contents. It's just that one man's meat can be another man's poison. And it is hard to tell. That is why when we simply share, we can't tell whether others will like the posts or not. That is the tricky part that makes me wonder if it's worth sharing on Twitter.

I saw a way that can give you interaction with Twitter without being offensive. Say something that is obviously wrong that will itch people to correct you.

The reverse way to generate leads. I like that idea.

A few of our YT videos did gain on repeated twitter sharing.
Yet it does takes some time and effort.

That's not completely true. It depends on the writer.
Saying what you have to can be written in a more interesting manner than a less stellar one. How you write is the key. A person might think he or she is writing something interesting, but the reality can be far from it.

I have seen people with good content but with no likes. No views. For as long as they have small followers base of when their followers aren't interested in stuff they like. But still, quality is key I know

Well, individual getting view or no views is a different matter altogether. It's comes later. But first important thing is having a good, interesting content to start with. And twitter with monthly around 1.35 B traffic is a great platform to take a chance on spreading your word out.
