A lesson you’ve learned recently

Postby eldavis » 16 Dec 2024, 16:39

Is there any lesson you have learnt recently you would love to share? One thing I have learnt recently is that no matter how much you do for a person, you could even sacrifice all that you have for them, they would still ignore or abandon you if they want to. The best thing is to Always ensure you are happy, don't over do things.

I have recently learnt that if we are not finding good enough time for doing something that we deem important, we need not get frustrated and in despair.
We need to be patient and often we do get some good time for a single day or for a few days.
Once we get the chance, we can make the best use of it.
Getting into despair does not helps.

One thing that I have learned recently is that there are certain things that simply would not change and you should stop expending efforts to change it.

Although not recent, actually what I attempt to accomplish as much as possible, is being prepared.

For example, I like to have a meal or 2 already prepared in the fridge for grab and go. What if I am really hungry or if there is a snow storm and the power goes out?

Then, if I have an appointment or an outing, I make sure that I have a lunch packed. There have been nights when I have forgotten, then got up in the morning only to stuff a bag of chips or crackers in my backpack.

I've recently learned to stop being a people-pleaser; it is exhausting. For a long time, I was focused on pleasing others, but I've realized that it’s not healthy to do so. It can drain your energy.

I am also a people-pleaser. Lately I have been being "scolded" which is not healthy for myself. People, think of the other person's feelings before you talk. Do you have to be so mean?

I have learned to prepare a pitcher of protein shakes every day. To be honest I do forget as can be lazy.

I like the shakes for when I am very hungry late at night or for when I need a quick mini-meal.

Unfortunately, I cannot pack any protein shakes for when I am running errands. Do you know of a solution to this predicament?

One lesson that I have learned recently is that people don't really care about anyone but are looking out only for their interests.

I have learned to not be so giving.

For example, I tend to prepare alot of food and like to give away some food, either a neighbor, my roommate's boyfriend (a really big guy that consumes alot of food) or even the food pantry worker.

My neighbor is away on vacation and texted that she is going to be on a diet, my roommate refused to take a plate of pasta to her boyfriend that I had prepared for her boyfriend today and yesterday the food pantry man would not even take a diet soft drink from myself (he usually takes a plate of food!)

uuuugh.
