The travel bug bit me good and proper that let me visit a good part of India, Europe, the US, Canada, Nepal, Australia and New Zealand.

Of all the places I visited Switzerland is a place that I enjoyed the most specially the Jung frau experience - the Alps.

We had to take a train from Engelberg and to get to the Railway Station we had to take a cable car. The entire journey was picturesque Once at the Jungfrau Railwa Station we took a gondola to reach the Alps.

Who can forget the Ice Palace in Jung frau?

Do share your travel experience.

I have a long list of places to travel and I have travelled some in the list. My best memories is that of Hampi, Karnataka...a place I feel that gives you goosebumps. I would like to revisit the place in a more relaxed way and explore it mostly on my feet. Every nook and corner of the city has a saga to be unfolded.

Hampi was not included in my travel covering India.

Hampi with nearby Pattandkal and Badami, Ladakh, North eastern states, Rann of Kutch... these are some places in India that I recommend. You don't get their equivalent anywhere else in the world.

I had the good fortune to visit Hampi many years ago and stay there for a few nights. It really is a beautiful and amazing place. I loved walking round all the rock areas and hills. We got up really early one morning to view the sunrise and Hampi is known for having the most beautiful sunrises in the world. It's over twenty years since I was there, I loved it and would love the opportunity to go back there.

Well, quite a varied list. Most within India and a few outside.
I liked visiting places in Himachal Pradesh & Nainital.
Down South, visiting Mysore and Bengaluru in 2000 was a very good experience.
It was Bangalore then and a much much wonderful and a truly Garden city, unlike the urban mess that I hear about it now.
I had a good experience of travel & stay in another Himachal place - Dharamshala(close to McLeodganj) which I might narrate some day.

Outside India, London in UK & NYC in US were lifetime experiences.

Yet I believe Switzerland is way ahead of those experiences.

I agree with you about Bangalore. I have visited Bangalore when it was a garden city and when it became a concrete jungle Sad story

I never got to visit those cold places Nainital and HP but did have an experience in Kashmir.

In UK our visit to London was a disappointment . We were there for two days the weekend and most of what we wanted to see was closed.

While in New York we saw those two buildings that were later shot at.

May be you can explore Ooty / Kodaikanal etc which are closer to you.
Bangalore/Bengaluru is an example of how too much haphazard and uncontrolled and unchecked development can ruin a great and livable city.

Oh that sounds nice!
Are people there able to communicate in English or are there are any language issues there if someone not knowing the local language goes there?

When the travel bug hits, it’s impossible to sit still. Spontaneous trips are fun, but I’ve learned that booking multi-day tours often gives deeper experiences without stressing over details. They balance freedom with structure, letting you truly soak in new cultures and landscapes without constant planning headaches.

When the travel bug bites, you start craving new experiences and places. Even quirky things, like spotting a Japanese sex dolls shop in Tokyo, become part of the adventure. Travel opens your eyes to cultures, oddities, and surprises you’d never expect at home. It’s addictive, honestly.

When the travel bug bites, you just crave new adventures. For me, nothing beats the thrill of a jetski in Dubai, speeding across turquoise waters with the skyline behind. It’s pure freedom, adrenaline, and unforgettable memories—all in one ride. Definitely a must-do for any traveler.
