Squirrells are not Vegans

Postby Netherrealmer » 20 Dec 2024, 06:13

Recently scientist discovered that Squirrels are Omnivores. There is now a footage of Squirrells hunting voles.

What is a vole?

Its a very cute species of mouse. Voles are usually part of the diet of owls, hawks , eagles and maybe some cats but scientist are shocked that animals known for loving nuts actually have some meat on their diet. if you think about it, You need fat during winter. So Squirrels takes break from veganism if they need fat to feel warm.

Technically no other animals are vegans. Veganism is a lifestyle (not just about food) and a conscious choice. Other animals can be herbivores, carnivores or omnivores, which is about what they can eat, and need to eat, not what they choose.

That is interesting though. I knew squirrels sometimes ate meat but I didn't know they actually hunted.

Lots of animals we think of as primarily herbivores will eat meat sometimes if they get the chance. Deer sometimes eat baby birds, for example. Gross, but true.

It is the survival of Fittest and harsh conditions often test the animals and even Human beings in some situations.
So it is a surprising news but not exactly shocking.

Yep. I think dogs are technically omnivores. They eat a lot of different stuff given the opportunity, like pigs. They also can technically live without meat, but cats can't.
