How Can We Punish a Scammer?

Postby JASPREET » 06 Dec 2024, 08:42

I feel many of us encounter scams when we earn online and I always think about how we can stop those people from scamming others and punish them. I don't know of any way to punish them but at least we should share the word and their scam-style so others can be aware of it and this way we can isolate the scammer.

One reason why these online scammers are so common these days is because they can easily go off grid the moment they have scammed others. If there is a way we can fish them out it would have been better. The best we can do is ensure that others do not fall for them by quickly exposing them.

The forum/s concerned should ban them as soon as they learn about them. Likewise, other members should stop responding to their posts.

Punishing them would be for sites to withhold their earnings and then ban their accounts

It's best to make everyone aware of it and also their scam pattern so we will know even if they come with different username

Punishing scammers can be hard, as they operate online and can easily hide their identities. But, I agree that we should raise awareness about their tactics, and warn others about the risks of falling victim to their scams.

The main punishment that works is to spread the word FAR AND WIDE, tell anyone who'll listen to stay well clear. I once used a parcel forwarding company called MyUS that stole money out of my account and that of countless others. MyUS wouldn't return my money Paypal was useless at helping. I spent a year posting reviews EVERYWHERE.

Then I trolled them on Facebook... whenever I saw their lying adverts and responses to prospective customer, I'd go on there and warn people to run for the hills  I never got my money back but it was hella satisfying. Plus, a lot of people believed me... I also posted links to all the negative reviews similar to mine to substantiate my claims. I mean, the TrustPilot reviews ran for hundreds of pages, most complaining bitterly about their money being stolen.

Warn others, learn from the experience, move on and put it behind you.

I am unable to find any other way but I hope there is a way through which we can punish that user or able to block their IP so they cannot access any website

Just be sure that no one opens himself or herself up to get scammed. Spread the word about scammers. When they don't see people to scam, they would stop.

Educating others about the tactics scammers use and how to protect themselves is very important.

Making everyone aware is the best option and we can also not reply on their threads and isolating them is also a good option

Maybe all we can do about a scammer is to reveal his scheme by posting on forums so PTP users will be warned. I am lucky to not have encountered a scammer lately.
