Linkin Park have a new Vocalist

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Sep 2024, 09:41

After the death of their original vocalist Chester Bennington, Instead of replacing him with a Sound a like, they decided to replace him with Emily Armstrong. She was the vocalist of the rock band Dead Sara. They think Chester is irreplaceable so rather than replacing him with a sound alike, they decided to go with a new direction and go for a female vocalist.

Lets see if her voice will work with Mike Shinoda's rapping.

Linking Park is known for NU Metal or Rap Metal music genre.

That's a great video, Emily Armstrong's vocals sound excellent on it, it's the first time I heard that song and really enjoyed it. I've started following Linkin Park on Spotify and on Instagram, and look forward to hearing more from her.

I just realize she sound a bit similar to Chester but she is more screaming and less emotion but I wont make a comparison since she will make her own legacy

oh really? I just found out, I guess it was time to turn the page although unfortunately Chester is no longer here (may he rest in peace) but is she a woman? I have nothing against women, she sings excellent, but it makes no sense that in a band that had a male vocalist they put a woman in, it's like in Evanescense the singer dies and puts in a man, I'm definitely not in favor of that for this reason same

I Think Mike Shinoda choose her because she is the closest sounding singer to Chester. She will never replace Chester but they must still sing Chester's songs on tours. LP was almost breaking up until they discover her, one of the kids who grew up listening to their songs

It took the band years to recover and find a new vocalist after Chester committed suicide.

Someone made an Ai cover how the new song will sound like if Chester sings this instead of Emily.

Male vocalist OR female vocalist? If it makes money, it makes sense! That's how it is in the entertainment industry.

Do you know the history of the band Fleetwood Mac? They added a female vocalist when they already had a female vocalist. Why settle for one outstanding female vocalist when you can have two? Having 2 lead vocalists is not the norm in the industry. However, from 1975 to today, people still love Fleetwood Mac.

Why make a A.I video when you can see how big boy Jay Z was scared of Chester voice in Roxy theater. I think he was like: well I'll be damned!

Here is full video. Enjoy!

Replacing a well established popular voice will be challenging. Emily Armstrong has a bar to move. It must be a lot of pressure for that. But who knows she might be widely accepted and create a legacy of her own.
I find it interesting that a male vocalist has been replaced by female one. And there is nothing wrong there, creativity has no gender. As long as she delivers well and is accepted by fans.

According to the way l had listened to her the lady is really doing good. I think they hit the nail on its head by trying on that new direction for sure.

Emily is a woman but she have a masculine voice, in a way she sounds like an Angier Chester.

I think it was inventive for the creatives behind Linkin Park to replace Bennington with Emily.
Most likely these people were looking for a way to ensure that audiences do not become bored by Bennington's voice.
