I don't really believe that adults are fond of toys than the kids. I think the children are found of toys more.

LOL. I can't tell many dolls I took apart. I even cut their hair. I was so upset when it didn't grow back. Even funnier is the fact that later on they made dolls with hair that grows.

Maybe its different in the upper middle class and Upper Class. Even the poorest countries have middle class and rich people.

my children would prefer to play with phones and not just with phones, a functional phone like Android because if you give them a toy phone, they would not take it.

In my country this practice is very rare, the reason behind this, we are much concerned about it as what people will say. So we don't purchase any toy for ourselves even we feel mad about that.

There is a saying in my culture that whatever you miss out on as a child, you will be thrilled to try it out as an adult. I guess these people(including me, I still buy teddy bears and dolls) did not have the financial capability of buying toys as children. Now they do and they want to satisfy that inner child.

You can hug them when you are lonely and sad. It can be stress relieving. The fuzzy texture also helps.
