Top Being Neighborly Nice

Postby Spontaneo » 06 Jul 2023, 00:45

I have one friend, a neighbor, who gives my rooommates and me, donated food about once a month.

Our neighbor gets the groceries from a friend. She then goes thru what she wants and gives we roommates the rest.

The groceries are mostly day-old baked goods, such as various breads, muffins, bagels, donuts, etc.

I usually place some of the baked goods in the freezer so as to keep freshl.

I appreciate everything that our neighbor gives.

Then, a friend of ours gives we roommates huge boxes of chips and pretzels about once a month. So, we give our neighbor some of the chips and pretzels!

My roommates do not like leftover dinner. I love leftovers! But, I cannot consume all of the food! So, a couple of months ago, I asked our neighbor if she would like to be treated to some delicious leftovers quite often. She asked excitedly, “Really!” Now I am the one excited! So, I need to go shopping for some good storage containers as a roommate refuses to let me use ours.

Not only being nice as the title states, but being neighborly nice is being frugal! What do you think?

It is always good to be very nice whenever you find yourself and we should try to be our brother's keeper.

I do not mean to take advantage of a neighbor. Being mutually nice is a blessing.

I really don't like the idea of being given food for free. I like toiling for my food I am a man of my own principles. Let them donate the food to the disabled and the needy.

I live in the countryside and here everyone has their own production of vegetables and fruits and we use to share with neighbors as well as they share with us. This is a good way to avoid things from spoiling.

Don't find such a gesture as being bad. Think of such a gesture as a present. Everyone likes being spoiled sometimes. ;)

It's actually nice reciprocating kindness you received from neighbours or even other people .When someone does a nice thing to me today, I always find every means to do something nice to such person too and not always be at the receiving end.

Being neighborly nice can actually be a bail out on days you are really broke. You can easily tell your neighbor that you are hungry and he or she should give you food and they would oblige but it should not be a habit.

It is not as if one is being entitled, it is just a gesture of love to friendly people.

This only happens when you are living with people that are less chaotic. This wouldn't work when your neighbors are terrible people.

When I had my birthday celebration, my neighbor offered to do the event hosting. I didn't have to pay for an Mc. Another group if neighbors did the cooking by themselves. That helped me to cut cost on catering services.

Some neighbours are supportive especially when it comes to holding a function, they always like to take part in doing one or two things like the cooking , event hosting

I am even neighborly and nice with my own roommates.

I do their chores quite often... Such as getting the garbage ready. As-a-matter-fact, the rooommate in charge of thre garbage jusy left to go out and did not do her chore. The garbage can is ready to overflow. Guess what I have to do?
