I like forums. I will make my own forum soon. So, my choice is forum.

Well, it depends on what is your purpose by using them. I would prefer facebook because it has more activity and you can subscribe and follow some channels that update hourly or even less so there are always news to watch xD

I think a forum would be quicker and easier to set up, but it really depends on what you want. What all do you plan to incorporate? Some forums offer a lot of features that could be useful, without going the social network route.

I do the opposite. Currently I spend more time on forums than on social networks. Maybe because I got tired of social networks. I'm using them since 2006 or 2007, so I grew up and now I don't care that much about that kind of services.

Social Network and Forums are different from each other. Social Network is interacting with your closest friends and family while Forums interacting with other people that you don't know.
