I really need a summer vacation but i need money i don't think i can enjoy this summer

Every year, a few girls and I go to a Women's Non-Denominational Conference held at The Carisle in Amish Country.

I had to hear from a person that the gals were not going.

I had no transportation and even if did it, would feel awkward there among strangers.

No vacation this year.

I am sorry, it is good when we have a group of friends with whom we can share some activities, if your friends can't go this yera maybe next year you can try to go to 2 different places with the money you saved this year.

Thank you for the encouragement. We always had a nice trip when we did go. Atleast I did.

We would eat at the Dutch Restaurant by the hotel. We would go shopping at surrounding Amish stores and local thrift shops. Every year, I would buy an Amish jar of jalapeno jelly for sandwiches! $1.99 a jar compared to online shopping at an astronomical cost!

I understand your disappointment, maybe you can try to organize a trip with other friends or some relatives. Even if you go alone, maybe you will know new people and make new friends, don't let your happiness depend on others.

I avoid going for vacation in summer or peak time because the places are too crowded and it's a bit expensive during peak holidays. We go when all of us can afford a week off during off season. We go for two to three vacations in a year, but that's not happening since the pandemic.

I always tend to make use of what i have. Majority of the times, what i do for my rest is to get a movie and some snacks then i stay off from any job and just relax.

Would you be upset if this happened to you?

This past April, some of my friends told myself that they were going to the Amish Country. They seemed suspicious.

I put 2 and 2 together.

When my friends got home, I asked, "you went to the women's conference, didn't you?"

My roommate replied, "we didn't think that you had the money". Since when did she know my finances? Of course I had enough money. They just wanted their little clique to go without myself.
