Nepal and Indonesia “When the Nepo Kids Flex, The Streets Snap”

Postby Netherrealmer » 11 Sep 2025, 15:40

Nepal just showed its politicians the door after they tried to muzzle the people by banning social media. The ban backfired spectacularly, sparking massive protests that left 19 dead and hundreds injured. Citizens weren’t just angry about censorship — they were sick of watching corrupt leaders’ kids strut around in designer clothes and flashy jewelry bought with taxpayer money. With the pressure boiling over, Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli had little choice but to resign.

Indonesia isn’t far behind in public outrage. Furious over corruption, sky-high living costs, and politicians living like royalty while the people scrape by, protesters have been storming the homes of the elite. Cars burned, mansions ransacked — and no, it’s not a coup (yet). The government is scrambling, firing ministers in finance and security as if reshuffling the same rotten deck will calm the streets.

These videos explains what is happening in Indonesia and Nepal

Basically, the daughters and sons of political politicians are grabbing their designer clothes, expensive cars, and European vacations while the local people are suffering in poverty and natural disasters and floods. Because the government is so corrupt that use the public funds to spoil their children instead of giving the services and infrastructure the citizens deserve.

There is a limit to everything and even being a democracy often means vast disparities in incomes and lifestyles.
So after a point, such incidents and protests are bound to happen.
What is sad and wrong as well is the burning of places, Hotels etc.
Such incidents are bad and can cause loss of lives of innocents as well.

Not very likely.
Iran has a strong IRG that protesting people would face trouble dealing with.
Not sure about Israel.
Putin is considered as God by many Russians.
As for Trump, I think again that US can deploy its special units and Army to deal with the situation and even fire at protestors.

However, one cannot absolutely rule out something similar to what happened in Nepal.

At least this is Trump's final term as Americans are only allowed to have 2 terms.

It is clear that citizens are increasingly opening their eyes and boldly demanding their rights. Nepal and Indonesia are showing the power of people's unity against corruption. This is a sign that the voice of citizens cannot be silenced so easily. Change begins when people say “enough is enough.”

I hope these political revolutions are not hijacked by entities with anti-citizen interests.

Reminds me of a common saying to the effect that t5he beneficiaries of revolutions are not usually those who trigger these changes.
Reason for those agitating for change to slow down and ponder.

A leader comes in his own time. And every moment brings a lesson. Trump’s presidency has been a controversial one in the world. Some feel that change is needed, especially on foreign policy and human rights.

Others see his leadership as a boost to political self-awareness. But for many, the hope is that the final phase will bring stability and a space for new dialogue. The world needs leaders who build bridges, not walls.

True. Trump will go down in history as the most destabilizing president the us has ever had. Hoping there will be positive things coming from his era.

It looks like Philippines is going to join the Gen Z evicting government club because Filipinos are angry because the flood control projects are corrupted by politicians so they can spoil their nepo-babies. While people are drowning from flood, they notice the daughters of politicians and sons of politicians are having vacations in Europe wearing designer clothes while people are drowning from floods because they use the money from flood control programs to spoil their children. Then their children will flex into social media, particularly Instagram.
