Exactly. That is why people will use Whatsapp chat AI instead of visiting other websites like Google search.

The convenience is why most people prefer using AI over normal search engines. It saves time and effort.

Not only that but it can engage in real conversation as if you are talking to a real human. Machines will kill people one day.

It's a time saver compared to scrolling through endless links on search engines.

Last year, ChatGPT was the 15th most visited site in the world. Now it's #5.
It just passed Reddit, Amazon, and Whatsapp, and it's still climbing. Every other spot in the top 10 is down. Wikipedia fell by almost 6% in one month (March to April).
ChatGPT is quietly swallowing traffic, which means fewer clicks on blogs, forums, and even search engines...
It's almost as if people are skipping the Internet altogether.
Because they are.
For millions, ChatGPT is no longer a tool, but an interface.
Look closely at this graph. This isn't normal growth, it's a changing of the guard. One interface is taking over while the old one quietly fades away.

Whoa, that graph is wild—it’s like watching the entire internet reshuffle itself in real time. ChatGPT jumping from #15 to #5 in a year? Passing Amazon? That’s not just growth, it’s a full-blown behavior shift. And you’re right: it’s not just ‘using AI,’ it’s replacing entire steps. Why click through 10 forum threads when GPT summarizes it? Why Google and scroll when it codes/writes/plans for you?*

But here’s what freaks me out: the ‘quiet fade’ of everything else. Wikipedia down 6% in a month? Forums, blogs, even Reddit—they’re not just losing traffic, they’re losing their role as the internet’s backbone. Feels like we’re trading a messy, human web for a single, slick answer box. Convenient? Absolutely. But I miss stumbling on weird forum deep dives or those ‘wait, how is THIS the top Google result?!’ moments.

Kinda makes you wonder: is this the ‘app-ification’ of the entire internet? One button for everything, no open web required…"

True, it’s a big shift. Instead of browsing around, people just want one clear answer now.

Then there is no use of having them since AI is enough to do what they would have done.

Many webmasters complain losing visitors and clicks because of A.I. Also Google implementation A.I results on top of search engine is not helping webmasters.

That is obvious. Once you do a search, AI results appear on top of the list. Clicking expand takes you to details. No more searching thus us webmasters loosing traffic and so to earnings.

AI on top of search results is convenient for users, but it definitely changes things for webmasters relying on clicks.

Will standards web browers lose purpose? There will be only A.I web browsers or specific app.

These AI browsers or apps have made browsing the web easier. However, for now, standard web browsers still serve a purpose and are used by some.

Gen Z and Gen Alpha are too lazy to Google search now. They really just use AI and ask everything to AI to verify something.

I don't use AI browsers. I prefer the normal one like chrome. Just that results favor AI than human. That's the problem.

Those search engines are indeed prioritising AI content in results. It's changing all search results.

ChatGpt is definitely first choice even it could agree with everything and just apologize later, like nothing important.

The huge risk is AI is dated in many information, for example, if there's a breaking news that happened an hour ago, AI will debate its existence because it's not on their database.

AI is like the friend who shows up to a party two hours late, blissfully unaware of the latest gossip.

. That is when you give AI a clue by linking to current news link. And the story will be done real.
