Google AdSense is a great monetization option for blogger. If your Adsense ads are strategically placed, and if you get good traffic from high tier countries, you can easily generate meaningful income. However, you need to focus on publishing content that brings in search engine or social media traffic.
Getting rejected by Google AdSense is a common issue for most bloggers. Interestingly, it is easy to fix the rejection if you pay attention to few things. Many bloggers treat AdSense like a quick money-making scheme, they think getting Adsense approval will start making them money immediately. Therefore, they rush to apply with incomplete websites, duplicate content, poorly written articles, publish on overused topics, etc. Never submit a half baked websites.
I use AdSense on my blog, I have been using Adsense for years, and earn from it regularly. Approval isn’t hard if you follow the rules. Google is transparent about their policies, including what content is prohibited and what type of traffic is disallowed. They want serious bloggers and website owners, not people looking to exploit the system. Quality content is the main criteria for Adsense approval. Quality content means well written original, well formatted, helpful, and valuable content written for human users, and not just for search algorithm and clicks.
Google Adsense does not have any criteria for traffic for approval. You can get approved by Google AdSense with completely new website and zero traffic. However, you still need traffic to earn money, you need thousands of daily traffic to earn decent income. Adesne approval shouldn’t be your goal, your earning is. And for that, you need high traffic from search engines or social media.
Google also wants a lot of content on your website before it can get approved by Adsense. One common reasons for rejection is thin content, or not having enough content. While they don’t tell you how many articles your website needs before getting approved, you will have to aim for 30-35 articles. It is certainly harder now to get AdSense approval than it was 5 years ago. They have created stricter policies regarding content topics, and content quality. Long, unique, well-edited articles, which are more than 1000 words and more are essential for approval. Sometimes they also reject if your website is already showing ads from other networks. Do not use any ads before getting approved by Adsense.
It is common to get rejected on your first attempt. While sometimes they don’t give you specific reasons, most of the time they tell you why your website was rejected, they might mention thin content (fewer content), content quality (poorly written content) etc. You will have to improve your content and then resubmit your website.
