The memory game
This 87 year old has a retentive memory. She reminds her maid about her daily chores. In fact it should be the other way arund as the maid is half her age.
Age is just a number and this cliched statement could be applied here as well as no matter how old one is knowing how to live a life and not letting one’s age to dictate is the way to go.
When it comes to memory, there are many ways how one can keep one’s brain well sharpened. A dull brain can be compared to a knife that is not used. It turns blunt and it needs to be sharpened so that it can be put to use.
For sharpening one’s brain there are foods that help such as almonds, brahmi leaes and a few supplements.
Then there are those activities that ensure that the brain is well sharpened. Solving word puzzles, working on jigsaw puzzles, solving riddles, mathematical problems, cross word puzzles . observation games – the list is endless. They also provide entertainment and some also play against each other and even earn .
Living in isolation can result in stagnation and this shoul d be avoided at all costs. Joining some club where there is a mixed age group can help one both mentally and physically to stay active.
There are those who have successfully written books and for this surely one needs a sharp brain Writing ensures a sharp brain and a sharp brain can write well
As one gets on in age there are no doub t health issues one has to deal with as the organs do become less effective and may even become ill
One needs to have a holistic approach that not only takes care of one’s brain but also the body in general As we know body and mind work in tandem If the body is sick it affects the mind and vice versa
People live on assumptions that once one ages the world stops working for them . How wrong they are. It is all in one’s mind and that thought needs to be banished
How one takes care of those twllight years needs to be planned when one is in harness and well in advance. The kind of food one eats, the kind of exercise that could be performed also needs planning
This lady in her eighties competed at the event “ Britain’s Got talent”. Surely this was possible for her to do only with a well sharpened brain.
