Animal Welfare

ANIMAL WELFARE

Looking around it is sad but true that not many have genuine love for animals. Dogs are kept so that their property is watched and it is also considered a prestige to have pets in one’s house.

One needs to have genuine love for animals that serves as an impetus to pay attention. One need not be a member of any club, association or Trust to be able to play a role in educating those around them about the welfare of animals – just set an example

This starts in homes. Animals and pets that are kept in homes need to be given the kind of treatment they so well deserve.
It should be seen that they are provided with enough clean space, given the right kind of good food, good health care and most important of all kind treatment
Once the home animals are given the right treatment this knowledge could be imparted to others and they could also be invited to see how animals are cared for.
A legislation not to kill strays would be in place. Instead, particularly dogs could be salvaged, and if there are females they could be spayed and adopted. There are so many housing societies where these could be kept as watch dogs sometimes they serve a better purpose than watchmen
Efforts should be made to educate children in all schools about the need for having animals around us and the need to show them kindness
Awards for best maintained and best cared for animal could be instituted at all school levels. NGOs could invite sponsors for such activities.
As far as wild animals go stringent measures against poaching should be put in place and shooting completely banned.

There is ruthless deforestation which results in wild animals going helter, skelter in people’s homes who are then killed.

Deforestation is a curse on society which destroys the ecological balance bringing in devastation of the worst order affecting animals in particular and that getting transferred to human beings.

.One needs to make a determined effort to be on the look out for animals that need to be rescued.

Many in general have no issues when it comes to being cruel to animals. They think nothing of it. It is these one should look out for and bring them to the notice of Organisations that are involved in saving animals from cruelty.

There should be mobile hospitals for rescuing animals that many a time become victims of road accidents.

I admire your views on animal welfare bestwriter and it would be great if we could have a world where animals are much better treated than they are today. Are you vegetarian?

It is true that true love for animals is the basis for protecting and caring for them. Even without being a member of a club or association, one can set a good example through daily actions. Being attentive to animal welfare starts with one's own attitude and how one teaches others in a simple way. This is a way to spread awareness without a big ceremony but with a visible and exemplary life example.

That day will be very special because animals also have feelings and need love just like humans. We should be compassionate and care for these creatures so that the world can be a safe and peaceful place for every living being.

It's sad to see people these days being pushed aside and valuing things other than humanity. The world has changed and everyone is running after their own things without caring what their peers are going through in life.
