How to Drive Lot of Traffic to TikTok Videos

Let me tell you something small about how I started getting many people to watch my TikTok videos. I never thought I would be on TikTok, to be honest. I used to see people dancing there, making jokes, and I thought that thing is for young people only not knowing that even the likes of myself would do it.

But one day, my younger cousin said, why don’t you try showing how you cook your food on TikTok? People might like it. Being a man, I laughed and laughed more. But later, I tried. I took my small phone, I recorded myself cooking beans stew, and I posted it.

The next day, I checked. Only six people watched. Six! I felt embarrassed. I even thought of deleting the app. I told my cousin, “Nobody wants to watch me.” But he told me, “No, just keep going. Try other ways.” So I listened to him. That’s how my journey started.

One thing I learnt is that on TikTok, you must catch people very quickly. People are scrolling fast, like rain water running on the ground. If your video starts slowly, they pass you and go to another person. So these days, I start my video with something sweet to look at. By showing the ready chicken stew on the plate first sight, I posted it looking soft, juicy, with soup shining on top. People see it and say, “Ah, this looks sweet!” They want to know how I cooked it. Or sometimes, I ask a question at the start. I say, “Do you want to make soft chapati that does not break?” People stay because they want to hear how.

Another thing that changed my videos is music. Before, my videos were dry, only my voice. Even me, when I watched them, they felt lonely. Then I started putting music, small small in the background. It makes the video warm. I try to use music that is gentle when I’m cooking. When I’m talking or joking, I can put faster music.

I also learnt that words on the screen help people. Not everyone watches videos with sound. Sometimes they are in office, or in taxi, or they just prefer reading.

About hashtags, that one confused me in the beginning. I used to write big hashtags like “for you” because I saw other people doing it. But my videos still stayed small. Later, I started writing hashtags that talk about my video. Like if I’m cooking beans stew, I write “beans stew,” “African food,” or “easy cooking.” That way, people who search those things can see my videos.

Another thing that helped me is posting many times. Before, I thought one video in a week was enough. This I was wrong. I learnt that those who make new videos more often get more viewers. But I try. Not every video will become big, but one video can bring many new people. Now I post about everything. Everything can makes me happy including photos slides, family, kids and etc.

I also learnt to talk to people who comment on my videos. Before, I felt shy. I thought, “Ah, maybe they will laugh at me.” But now, I answer them. When someone says, “Thank you for showing this recipe,” I reply, “You are welcome, my friend!” Or someone asks, “How long should I boil the beans?” and I tell them the time. Sometimes I even make a new video to answer the question. People feel happy when you talk to them. It makes them feel like you are friends.

Sometimes, I watch other people who do things like me. I check how they hold their camera, how they talk, how they write words on the video, how they use music. I don’t copy them exactly. But I learn small things. Even small tricks help a lot. Sometimes I even duet their videos, and some of their followers come to watch mine.

One more thing I do is share my TikTok videos in other places. Like on WhatsApp, Facebook, and even Instagram. People who know me from there come to see my TikTok. It helps me get more people.

But my friend, above all, I learnt that TikTok needs patience. Sometimes, I make a very nice video. I taste the food, and it is sweet. The video looks good. But only few people watch it. I feel bad. But then, I keep going. Because sometimes, even a video that was sleeping for many days suddenly starts getting many views. That is how TikTok is.

So if you want to bring many people to watch your TikTok videos, do not give up. Find something you love. Make videos that catch people quickly. Talk to people. Share your videos in other places. And keep going, even when you feel tired. Your time will come, my friend. I am wishing you good luck. One day, people will watch your videos and clap for you.

You are right. Trends mean much when it comes to gaining views. That's because it's what people are currently searching for and ready to view.

TikTok is like a dojo, when you enter, you have to bring fresh moves, don't give up, find something you love, that passion becomes a sharp katana that quickly cuts attention, your videos grab people's attention, people come like sakura petals falling in spring everywhere, when you are well organized, your consistency runs like a bullet train without stopping and the audience grows, fresh ninja vibes
