Do You Ever Just Get So Excited?!

Postby Spontaneo » 23 Dec 2024, 21:44

Today, I spoke to you on a different thread about needing a pureed food cookbook?

Remember that cookbook I wanted so bad but was only available via e-cookbook for $2.99? The e-cookbook was called "The Perfect Diet Pureed Cookbook"? There were no hardbacks, no paperbacks?

Santa Clause and the Blessed Virgin Mary both gave myself a Merry Christmas! There were many copies on Amazon today!

I bought a used paperback of such cookbook just now!

I recently earned a $5 Amazon gift card from FC. So, I used my gift card. The cookbook was $4.49 but tax and shipping were about $5.00. Worth it!

I can't wait to show my dentist!

Do you ever just get so excited that you would like to jump up and down?! What have you gotten excited about recently?!

Aww that's lovely! I'm glad you found one. :)

Recently I was excited because I found a toy in an op shop that I wanted when I was a little girl (a Snoopy figurine) and bought it for $1. It's just a little thing but it made me happy.

'Op' is short for 'opportunity'. In America I think they're called thrift shops.

Oh yes. I love thrift stores! We have yard sales too.

Re: Do You Ever Just Get So Excited?!

It's kinda hard to explain. Back a few years ago, I found myself pushed into early retirement. I was bored to death and falling into a very deep depression - almost suicidal level. One day, I asked the landlord if I could do some yardwork around the apartment complex just for something to do and he told me to knock myself out.

Well, I discovered I really enjoyed doing the yardwork and it brightened my days. He stopped by a month or so after I started and was startled at the improvements. He immediately offered me a discount on my monthly rent to keep it up. A few weeks later, he stopped and asked me to take a look at another apartment complex to see what I could do there. Again, he was very happy with the results and I got a bigger discount on my monthly rent. And then there was another, and another and even more until I was doing all the yardwork for 18 of his properties. There was no way I could do more than that. My days were full even including weekends.

I was having a blast and really enjoyed making each place a nice place to come home to for each of the tenants. It was always a big plus when they went out of their way to thank me for the improvements. It was an extra shot of joy when nearby neighbors stopped by to thank me for cleaning up the neighborhood. Best part was I found myself extra happy each day as I headed out to work. I found myself as excited as a little kid waiting for Christmas morning. I could hardly wait to get going. My depression had vanished. Lost a lot of weight and even my diabetes vanished with all the extra exercise.

Going on ten years now. I wake up still excited almost daily and only get bummed out when the weather won't let me get to work. Who needs a vacation when you're having this much fun?

Blessed Virgin Mary, I hope you forgive myself.

You know how I had all of those items to give to my church but I had a falling out with my church?

I am keeping for myself to use!

The Keurig is a blessing for my kitchen.

My worn-out New Balance smell. Guess what have that I was going to donate? A pair of black Reebok in my size! No more stinky feet!

These are just a couple of examples.

Am I wrong for keeping?

The black Reeboks ended up not properly fitting. So, tomorrow, I am going to a really nice thrift store where everything is like new. I am taking $10.00 and refuse to spend over my limit!

I would really like some Nike, but just so the sneakers fit comfortably, that is all that matters to myself.
