There is more out there learning and sharing than just earning

Postby bestwriter » 05 Jun 2024, 01:52

It all began creating an account at a Site where they did not pay but every user was active and everyone looked forward to sharing and learning. That Site still exists but it is there where I learnt that there are writing sites that pay

I grabbed the opportunity and became a user at one Site and my joy was endless when I earned my first dollar. I never looked back and went on adding more Sites that paid, to my kitty.

I paid more attention to earning than learning and sharing. In the good old days one actually earned but that has now changed drastically.

I did an analysis of how much time I spend writing at Sites that pay, the wear and tear of the gadgets that either need repairs or replacement, the money I spend on ISPs, then there is the electricity bill, not to speak of neglecting my off line responsibilities, neglecting my off line friends and family – I spared no time for them. There was a time I looked forward to visitors but that did not excite me any more..

I am on a few Sites and some Sites pay more than others. When I say more, 10 dollars after putting in over a month’s efforts that is. 10 dollars equals around Rs. 800 which are the daily wages of my gardener.

In this scenario I now look at more to learning and sharing, rather than earning, interacting with like-minded users, transforming some users into closer relationships, exchanging emails, sending messages, talking more about me, and that did result in one of the users from the UK visiting me a few years ago and this happened on a Site that did not pay. I no longer rush but do it at my own pace as I am in no hurry to earn.

I never knew the existence of peanut butter and I got to learn about it at one writing Site. It has now become our staple diet. This is just a tip of the ice berg when it comes to how much I have learnt by being a user at writing sites that pay

In the final analysis if one does not worry about the cents one earns but looks at the wonderful time one spends interacting with each other, learning and sharing and even transforming the online user in to an off line friend I feel it is worth having a few accounts at writing sites that pay.

The less one worries about earning but looks forward to time well spent learning and sharing, is the way to go.

I originally arrived on the shores of FC during a search for information about crypto currency. I had no interest in the earnings but was just interested in learning about this new form of wealth.

I learned enough here to push me into further research on the topic and decided it was not something I wanted to invest in. Crypto began as an alternate way to buy and sell goods and services but rapidly converted to a wild craze into investing for the sake of investing. The idea of buying and selling and using crypto for the exchange took a back seat. Yes, there are those who have made a significant sum, but it always appears in order for some to earn, many others have to lose; big time. I've encountered many more losers than winners in the game of crypto.

It also just happens that I have a strange interest in studying statistics and the design and format of this site accommodates that interest. The vast majority of topics are of no personal interest, and I still have no interest in the meager earnings potential. If it were not for my interests in studying the statistics, I would have been gone a long time ago.

However, I have posted replies from time to time on topics of interest and have accumulated FC earnings as a result. Since I had no interest in the earnings, I ended up looking for ways to spend the little I earned and came up with various offers of awards based on statistical achievements of other members.

I played the role as a site moderator for a few years as a result of my close monitoring all site activity. That ended with a crash of my computer right at the beginning of the Covid craze and a lack of parts to do any repairs. It took 2 years before I could finally buy a new computer and make my return. My offline work is too heavy to return to a moderator position but I still do my stats study when I have time. I have also continued with awards to spend whatever earnings I collect.

I don't participate in the same way as other members, but I enjoy studying the statistical detail and find great pleasure in the various opportunities to pay out awards when earned by others. Mine is not the usual story around here but it has become the way I learn and share on this site.

I agree. Yours is not the usual story and you will not find many with unusual stories here When I reached for Sites that paid I never bothered to do a study to find out if I was really earning atleast in the recent past where earnings have come down drastically and also how some Sites disappear without a trace. Some Sites do not pay for lengthy interactions that result in exchange of knowledge and that being the case there is little or nothing one learns at those Sites. I have decided to give up those Sites and concentrate only on those Sites where I can learn and share.

Different strokes for different folks. While I love to share and learn, getting to earn in the same vein is a triple boost.

You have a great point. Often the greatest value is not just in the pennies you earn but in the time you spend learning to collaborate and even build friendships offline. A few accounts on paid sites can be more meaningful if they give you the opportunity to write freely and enjoy the creative journey. That's where the real benefit comes in because you get paid less but you also get connection and personal growth.

Yes. One benefit of the Internet is that it helps users to connect with people from far-flung places.

May sound brutal. But sensible and realistic.
