It all began creating an account at a Site where they did not pay but every user was active and everyone looked forward to sharing and learning. That Site still exists but it is there where I learnt that there are writing sites that pay
I grabbed the opportunity and became a user at one Site and my joy was endless when I earned my first dollar. I never looked back and went on adding more Sites that paid, to my kitty.
I paid more attention to earning than learning and sharing. In the good old days one actually earned but that has now changed drastically.
I did an analysis of how much time I spend writing at Sites that pay, the wear and tear of the gadgets that either need repairs or replacement, the money I spend on ISPs, then there is the electricity bill, not to speak of neglecting my off line responsibilities, neglecting my off line friends and family – I spared no time for them. There was a time I looked forward to visitors but that did not excite me any more..
I am on a few Sites and some Sites pay more than others. When I say more, 10 dollars after putting in over a month’s efforts that is. 10 dollars equals around Rs. 800 which are the daily wages of my gardener.
In this scenario I now look at more to learning and sharing, rather than earning, interacting with like-minded users, transforming some users into closer relationships, exchanging emails, sending messages, talking more about me, and that did result in one of the users from the UK visiting me a few years ago and this happened on a Site that did not pay. I no longer rush but do it at my own pace as I am in no hurry to earn.
I never knew the existence of peanut butter and I got to learn about it at one writing Site. It has now become our staple diet. This is just a tip of the ice berg when it comes to how much I have learnt by being a user at writing sites that pay
In the final analysis if one does not worry about the cents one earns but looks at the wonderful time one spends interacting with each other, learning and sharing and even transforming the online user in to an off line friend I feel it is worth having a few accounts at writing sites that pay.
The less one worries about earning but looks forward to time well spent learning and sharing, is the way to go.
