Postby Mika » 27 Mar 2024, 16:06

Do you know what the best paid job is? I just did a Google search and here is the list of top 10 highest paid jobs in the US according to Investopedia.com.

1. Cardiologist (average salary $353,970)
2. Anesthesiologist (average salary $331,190)
3. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon ($311,460)
4. Emergency Medicine Physician ($310,640)
5. Orthopedic Surgeon, Except Pediatric ($306,220)
6. Dermatologist ($302,740)
7. Radiologist ($301,720)
8. Surgeon, All Other ($297,800)
9. Obstetrician-Gynecologist ($296,210)
10. Pediatric Surgeon ($290,310)

Did you notice something unique in the list? The top 10 highest paid jobs in the US are from health care industry. There is something interesting about this, out of 25 highest paid jobs in the US, 22 jobs are related to healthcare industry. Health care industry is expected to grow by 13 percent in the next 5 years.
Do you know what are the most on-demand jobs? Well, here is a list of 10 jobs that are in high demand according to a learning site Coursera.org

1. Computer manager (median salary in the US $151,150)
2. Paralegal (Median salary: $52,920)
3. Technical writer (Median salary : $74,650)
4. Web developer ($77,200)
5. Financial manager ($134,180)
6. Medical assistant ($35,850)
7. Software developer ($110,140)
8. Market research analyst ($65,810)
9. Substance abuse counsellor ($47,660)
10. Health services manager ($104,280)

Do you know what job tops this list? Well, they don’t tell you but the highest paid job is being a politician. A congressman’s salary in the US is $174,000, this is damn good salary, right. The US president receives annual salary of $400,000.

When you are a politician, you get a big paycheck, great benefits, and lots of extra cash. Plus, you get free stuff like travel, healthcare, a house, and a car - you don't have to pay for anything! And the best part? You can get a pension for life if you stay in office long enough. In most countries, politicians not only receive fat salary but also a lot of perks.

You will have to spend 7 years in a medical school to become a doctor, only then you will be able to earn well. You need to spend years learning data science to earn as a data scientists. But what do you need to become a politician? There is no such requirement, you don't even need a college degree or any experience. The only thing you need is to get elected to a government position, like a senator or member of parliament. If you lobby for corporations, you can earn enough for kids and grandkids.

Well, being a politician is not a bad thing though. If you're good at it, you can really change people's lives for the better.

I'm not surprised seeing medical jobs ranking so high in the list. It is not an easy profession to get into, requiring high grades and years of study in order to qualify. For those that succeed I suspect it is worth it for them and they have secure positions that are highly paid.

It's interesting to see Technical Writer rank so highly, I suspect it is not that difficult of a field to get into for those with a tech background.

Great, I stand no chance of making it in any of those :lol:The list is not surprising, really. I suppose I could retrain to become a substance abuse counsellor although I think I coud end up depressed having to work with all those unfortunate people. It must be heartbreaking to work so closely with them, witnessing all the pain and suffering.

If you are into tech field and if you have writing skills, this field of writing can make you good money. However, for those who do not come from tech background, this can be very difficult.
