Don't Put Off That Exercise That You Have Been Meaning To Do

Postby Spontaneo » 03 Feb 2024, 04:29

A few years ago, I became interested in tai chi. I am not sure what made me so interested. I keep procrastinating though! How am I supposed to figure out if I like tai chi or not?

I am an highest honors graduate in fitness and nutrition. I have worried about my health for years.

When I was younger, when living with my family, I jumped every night on a mini trampoline before bed. Go ahead and laugh but I did not want to go to bed with food on my stomach!

I was on the dance line so obviously how evenings after school were spent practicing.

As I got older, I attempted exercise following Joyce Vedral, Richard Simmons, Denise Austin and Leslie Sansone. The only real winner was Leslie Sansone, guru of Walk Away The Pounds fame. With her, you do not need to worry what you look like, if the weather is rain, if there are mean dogs loose (my fear), if you do not have sidewalks, etc.

Yes, I follow the Slim Fast diet and am a flexitarian following the Mediterranean diet. Make sense?

But, I have kind-of gotten sedentary as I sit at my desk alot while writing.

I attempted chair yoga but almost fell asleep in the shower afterwards. I could have fallen and gotten hurt.

So, I still practice Walk Away The Pounds on my own without need for a video.

Why am I giving you a dissertation on my exercise and diet? Not to give up!

I think that I am going to practice tai chi soon! I have not given up!

Tai chi does not burn a ton of calories, but some is better than none, right?

Do you have an exercise that you have wanted to practice but have given up on or have procrastinated doing?

Why not begin a new lifestyle food-wise and exercise-wise?

Why not begin having a fitness and nutrition membership via:

https://www.weightlossbuddy.com/

I would tell you:

https://www.myfitnesspal.com

But other than having a few close members, the website does nothing toward my weight.

Tai chi is so calming, nothing like, for example, tae bo, which I think is basically like punching!

You do not need to buy any DVDs, just practice tai chi with your own personal instructor Helen Lilang on YouTube with the attached YouTube video in the comfort of your own home!

The best way to figure out whether you like Tai Chi or not is to try it. Lots of places that offer classes in things like martial arts have a free trial lesson, so you could look for somewhere that does that to see if you like it.

If I were you I wouldn't give up on yoga just because you fell asleep in the shower after doing yoga once. There are lots of different types of yoga. Flow yoga is very similar to Tai Chi - you are constantly moving, but it's gentle. Usually if you do Hatha yoga, they have Shivasana (corpse pose) at the end of the class, where you lie on your back on the floor and relax. If you were going to fall asleep that would be a safe time/place for it to happen.

For exercise I do a lot of different things. Today I'll probably do some pilates, which I can do at home in my living room.

I get idea about shadow boxing but somehow I end up on tabata or HIIT training. Sometimes I work with weights but never end up on shadow boxing.

I would like to give a little update.

At first I told you that myfitnesspal has not done much for my weight.

The website has made a liar out of me, myself and I.

I always paid attention to my carbs and sugar not paying attention to my sodium. One day, I just happened to look at my sodium on myfitnesspal diary. Sky high.

I have since nearly wiped out sodium from my diet and the weight is dropping.

I am pleased with myself for keeping up my weight training all last month. I did it 2 or 3 times a week, and I'm starting to see some tangible results at last.

Sometimes we really don't have will for workout. It can be stressful day, it can be tired day or something else. In those days try do atleast warm up part and then little more. That is enough for that day. You will not eat yourself because you skip training. This is my way.

Up and down stairs a zillions a day.

fitness pedal exerciser

Yes, Leslie Sansone has taught me a lot, but I have incorporated my own versions of exercise too.

When it comes to exercising, it is always procrastination that people have to fight with all their strength.

What I think for inspiration and motivation is having a collection of different water bottles!

Also, a variety of healthy drinks. For example, unsweetened iced tea mixed with cranberry juice or a diet Arnold Palmer which is a half unsweetened iced tea and half unsweetened lemonade.

Starting and following up can be pretty hard, but at the same time, it will give you a great result.

One thing with exercise is that even if we do a little bit of it everyday, there would be results because of consistency.

Years ago, there was a fitness and nutrition website called Sparkpeople.com that has since closed. Anyway, the owner of the website always challenged people to give just10 minutes a day and he said you'd see results. People called him "SparkGuy".
