Stress And The Adrenal Reset Diet

Postby Spontaneo » 27 Jan 2024, 01:35

As I have gotten older, my stomach has grown bigger. I just kept ignoring the problem, thinking that the problem would go away.

What is my personal problem? You might have the same. I have over-production of cortisol, a stress hormone from the brain that goes straight to the belly, the most dangerous fat.

I suffer from fear, anxiety and stress.

I have even attended a 12-step program to help fix the stress, anxiety and fear, but the meetings did not work. Saying the same things over and over, expecting a different result.

Next, I have watched my diet and exercise. Staying under 1, 200 each day. Practicing in-home walking.

Then, I drink plenty of water. Quite often, water can be boring. So, I flavor my water.

Following, my medicine could be a problem. My family physician has told me that I really do not need medicine for diabetes, but we decided to keep me on the medicine for now.

The following article has me thinking, how about you?

https://www.womansworld.com/posts/diets ... iet-169491

I can handle the adrenal reset diet to a point. I do not agree with the whole diet.

For example, I need dairy and eggs. The diet says to do without for a month or more. I need milk for my Slim Fast shakes and my mochas. I need eggs for my egg salads and my scrambled eggs.

However, potatoes, beef, fish, vegetables and fruits are awesome and allowed! Yay!

The article states that the above is aimed at women who do not get in intense exercise daily.

One thing that I think is important and I do not do is own a weight scale. I think weighing oneself daily is necessary. Instead, I have my family physician’s medical assistant weigh me once a month. It is kind-of like a challenge, attempting to impress them for praise, proving that I can do it. Since this past new year began, I have lost 11 pounds and counting! Do you weigh yourself daily?

Finally, some friends that I have on myfitnesspal.com suggest herbal tea. Last week, while at the grocery store, something told me to buy a box of chamomile. I do not know why. I have yet to drink the chamomile, but think soon. One member told me that she loves it so much that she grows it! She said that it helps with everything from digestive problems to stress to sleeping problems, etc. I can handle that!

I would love to know what you think about the adrenal reset diet.

I do own a scale, but I don't weigh myself daily. I do it once a week or less. It's normal for weight to fluctuate from day to day by up to 2kg (about 4 pounds) so I don't find daily weigh ins very helpful. If you do want to weight yourself more often, bathroom scales are relatively cheap now. I bought mine online for about $20 and it works well.

If you want to try skipping dairy for a bit like it suggests, you could try using a plant based 'milk' like soy, almond or oat milk. The smoothie recipe in that article sounds really good. I might try it.

The diet itself sounds okay, although I'm slightly dubious about the author of the Adrenal Reset Diet book, Dr Alan Christianson, since he got a warning from the Federal Trade Commission for promoting herbal supplements as prevention or treatment of Covid 19. Hopefully he's cleaned up his act since then.

They also talk about adrenal fatigue syndrome, which is not really a thing

But you could do worse than this diet, so if it seems to help you, go for it!

I wouldn't call it much in the way of research. I just googled the diet because I was curious about it. If I'm thinking of trying something I want to know whether or not it works.

I know what you mean. My teeth are slowly being pulled one by one. I need to be prepared for when the last top 3 teeth are gone. I am down to the last 3 teeth on top. I still keep forgetting that they are gone and prepare food that I cannot chew anymore.

When I was doing some research online to figure out what I am going to need to consume, that is when I came across the e-cookbook called The Perfect Pureed Diet. I want the e- cookbook in paper form so bad but the e-cookbook is only available in online form. It is only $2.00 to download but what if my laptop would break? My laptops are known for breaking.

Would you be able to do some research to find out if you can find such e-cookbook in paper form? I would appreciate!

Thank you!

I can only find it in ebook form. Maybe you could print it out, or copy out the recipes you like the most?

I like everything in the e-cookbook. I would be at the library printing copies forever.
