Pop Eliminate One Of The Below For Better Health

Postby Spontaneo » 24 Sep 2023, 22:46

I am an highest honors graduate in fitness and nutrition from Stratford Career Institute. So, I am always interested in fitness and nutrition topics.

Personally, I have played with all 4 of the below.

I was addicted to diet Pepsi and quit!

Instead of tons of sugar in my iced mochas, I now use Jordan’s Skinny Syrups that have 0 carbs 0 sugar 0 calories!

As for alcohol, if you cannot have wine, study about mocktails which are non-alcoholic cocktails. What about drinking sparkling grape juice?

In order to get yourself a little bit healthier, simply cut out one of the following!

Soft drinks

Coffee

Alcohol

Sugar

If you want to cut out all, then even better!

First of all, soft drinks and sugar go together. Soft drinks contain mega sugar. You can buy diet soft drinks, but even diet soft drinks contain alot of junk. As for sugar, you can purchase artificial sweetener, but even artificial sweetener contains alot of junk. As for weight loss, you still not lose weight by consuming diet soft drinks or drinks with artificial sweetener.

Ok, coffee can be healthy but only occasionally. So, if you drink black coffee, you are good. However, if load your cup up with tons of sugar, milk, artificial sweetener, etc., you are bad.

As for alcohol, there is an exception. If you follow the Mediterranean Food Pyramid, to have 2 glasses of wine every day, is what you are told to consume.

Would you finally like to know what I have eliminated? I have eliminated sugar! I like to drink unsweetened iced tea with true lemon. I like to drink iced mochas mixed with Jordan’s Skinny Syrups. Occasionally, I like to have a sugar-free really any kind of drink!

Now there are people that like to bake. Personally, I do not know how to bake. But, I have watched my mother before. Baking calls for alot of sugar. However, last week I borrowed a library book about baking with Splenda. Do you know much about Splenda? Such sugar substitute is the rage these days. During those days when I wanted to attempt something new to my drinks, I used a little liquid Splenda Stevia which tasted awful. So, I wonder what Splenda tastes like in baked goods?

So, have you thought about what one of the 4 above that you would like to eliminate? I hope so! Good luck!

It's so obvious that these all are worst for health, some people won't agree but this is fact and we must accept the fact. Although we feel good for time being but in long run some of it destroyed our liver and other organs.

I think I am safe, I don't drink sodas nor alcohol and I like my daily coffee black with no sugar, only with a little bit of cinnamon.

I do not drink tea/coffee or alcohol. But I give away my restrictions to soft drinks. It is very hard to go sugar-free in one's life but I think I will be able to do it

Good tips. I now know that I need to cut sugars, as well as consumption of cookies with more sugars, soft drinks etc.
I am starting with having slightly lesser sugars in my tea, more of healthier cookies and so on.

I did cheat this past weekend...

A roommate baked a chocolate cake. I am a chocoholic.

My favorite cookies are potato chip cookies. Since she was baking a cake, I wanted potato chip cookies too!

A little sweet. A little salty.

;)

It has been more than a decade that I stopped drinking alcohol. After three years, I replaced drinking coffee to decaffeinated. In addition, I started to drink blue tea.

Chocolate cake doesn't need a lot of sugar to be delicious. I bake cakes frequently as my kids love chocolate cake but I always put a very reduced portion of sugar.

I understand. However, it is hard for me to stop at one. Like I said, I am a chocoholic. Kind-of like giving a case of beer to an alcoholic.

Research shows that alcohol is the Chief culprit for liver disease, extra sugar causes too many health problems. Some people defend coffee and tea but excessive use of both causes severe acidity.

It can be addictive for sure, maybe you can start with a chocolate or a chocolate cake with a reduced amount of sugar

I have been having my iced mochas with real sugar lately. So, I need to eliminate another item from the list! But, I like all 4 items from the list.

The key is to find a balance. If we are deviating from the balance sometimes, that is still fine.
Too much deviation and then it doesn't do us much good.

I think if you have 1 or 2 cups of coffee per day it won't hurt you but sodas and alcohol should be completely eliminated, about sugar, well, I think it is better to have real sugar (in a low amount) than artificial sweeteners.

I only take soft drinks once in a while. Sugar is already present in most of the food I eat, I only add some sugar to my pap sometime. I don't really take coffee.
