The Good Use Of Paper

Postby Spontaneo » 17 Jun 2023, 22:58

Do you forget quite often?

I do.

That is why I keep a pen and paper handy.

For example, if I am taking a siesta and need to remember something that I thought about while lying down, I have to write this thought down.

There are so many moments that I need to remember and cannot. So, with a little prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary to interceed for me, I usually can end up remembering and immediately write my thought or memory down. If not, I go bonkers and cannot rest.

Santa, Mrs. Santa, all the elves and all of the reindeer bring me office supplies every year for Christmas! I recently ran out of the legal pads. So, I recently bought 7 packs of legal pads at a local dollar store…AKA: The local Dollar Tree is soon to change names.

Why legal pads? I can think with legal pads.

As for Christmas, when asked what you would like to have, say office supplies

Memo pads? I keep memo pads on my desk. I keep memo pads on the kitchen table.

Post-It Notes? I keep Post-It Notes all over the place!

I remember in school to always have a dictionary and a thesaurus. They have been on my bookshelf for many years. I am just told online now if my spelling is wrong!

Speaking of school, when school supplies sales are running in stores, taking advantage of these sales!
Who has not used a copier machine yet? For example, when I was teaching myself how to cook, I would go to the local library and copy recipes! How many of you have borrowed cookbooks from your local library?

Now, I use Xerox copies of recipes that I do not need as stationary. You simply have a recipe on the front with your letter on the reverse side. Maybe you are teaching your friends and family new meals, possibly their next comfort meals!

There are a couple of problems that paper and pen may come to the rescue!

If Wi-Fi is not available in your location. So, you need to rely on the United States Postal Service.

If you cannot afford Wi-Fi. So, you need to rely on the United States Postal Service and the local library.

Finally, turn used paper into scrap paper for memos! That is what we used to do at a former job that I had.

Do you make good use of paper?

I use notepads at the desktop and laptop. When I am out and about, I use the notebook on my phone and it is always full of different notes

Yes, I like memo pads when I do not have access to my laptop or phone. For example, if an item is on sale.

I get cookbooks from the library too. It's a good way to try out new recipes. I also sometimes photocopy them. Reusing old paper for that is a good idea if you can. It wouldn't save me money, because I have to pay the same amount to use the copy machine regardless, but it does save paper, which is good for the environment. I'm not in the US, so it's a different postal service here.

I like to make lists and take notes on paper, usually, I use a pencil as I prefer it over pen. Nowadays a lot of people take notes on their phones but that is not my case yet.

I cannot take notes with my cellular phone. To me, doing so would be like multi-tasking of which I cannot do.

I have used pages from registers to write some fun stories, which my kids enjoy a lot.
Plus they come in handy for fun drawings as well.
I sometimes write some articles or discussions content in a 2022 diary which I did not fully use then.
You have shared some useful tips.
I however am more dependent on the Calendar I have in my mobile.

Forgetting stuff can be a real hassle. That's why I'm all about the good old pen and paper, too. It's like my memory backup!
Legal pads, memo pads, Post-It Notes, you name it – they're all lifesavers. And don't get me started on school supplies sales; those are the real MVPs!

You know what else? Using paper as stationary with Xerox copies of recipes is genius. It's like a tasty two-for-one deal!
Plus, the paper's a real MVP when Wi-Fi's down, or you're on a budget.

Until today, I didn't know that paper is very important like this. I am someone who doesn't note down things easily. I tend to keep most things in my memory this needing less paper to write. I think paper notes are worth it and will try right away.

It's a very good habit to keep notepad with yourself or carry a small notepad in your bag and make note of every important thing

True, today I ended up asking a client if he had a spare paper so I could take note of our deal. That is the power of keeping one and instantly I bought a new notepad.

I think I have completely phased out paper from my life. It used to give me so much inconvenience to be carrying papers around.

Amazing, how do you come to write down of things that are important or those you want to take note of and remember?
