Becoming a video content creator is not just about shooting videos and uploading the videos on various platforms, it is also about editing your videos and presenting them in a way that appeals to your audience within 5-10 seconds. When it comes to editing videos, the first name that pops into the mind is Adobe Premiere Pro. However, this program is basically for professionals and also costs a lot of money. Some other alternatives are Final Cut Pro, Cyber Link PowerDirector, iMovie, etc. If you are just starting out, you might not have money to buy these programs, even if you have money, you might not have the required skills. If you find yourself in this situation, here are some options you can try.
Illusto
This is a browser-based video editor, you do not have to download it on your device, you can start using it by going to illusto.com. If you are just starting, you do not even have to use the premium plans, the free version will be more than enough. If you plan on paying, the price starts from $7 per month. If you are using it for the first time, you can check their tutorials making it super easy to use this video editor.
DaVinci Resolve
This is my favorite video editing software. I use the free version and have never felt limited because it is free. For most users, the free version will be enough. However, if you plan to get a premium version, you will have to pay $295. This is the price for lifetime use along with free upgrades. In order to use this program, you will have to download it on your computer. You can even access free training by going to the official website blackmagicdesign.com.
OpenShot
This is an open-source video editing software. Since it is open source, it is completely free. Despite being free, it offers a lot of features that can sometimes beat even the premium software. You can even do 3D animations. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Other Options for Free Video Editors
There are multiple options for free video editors that you can try. Video editors worthy of mention are Adobe Creative Cloud Express (best for creating social media video content), iMovie (available for iOS and Mac devices only), InVideo (offers editable templates to create videos), Wondershare Filmora (you can use it for free but you will get watermarks), VSDC (one of the best free options that do not give you watermarks, etc.
Conclusion
After reading so many options, you might be wondering what tool you should be using. I use DaVinci Resolve. OpenShot is also good but since you can access tutorials on DaVinci Resolve, I find it better option.
