Links and tags helps you get views. It is part of the SEO game, You want your article to be visible in the google search because that is how people can find you. It's the way to get views, comments and click rate, so your wordpress site will get the traffic it deserves.


How to put external Links
Internal links are links to articles or website related to your topic. For example this article is about a recipe of the Chef,Hunter and Photographer Scott Rhea. Using external link will help your explain certain topics that you don't want to explain but add to the article. The phrase attached to an external link will have blue text.

The sample article is about a rabbit recipe. The writer do not want want to explain who is Scott Rhea so he put an external link.





The first thing I did is to copy paste a website link that explain who is Scott Rhea is. I decided to go for his instagram account.



The next thing I did is to highlight the words I needed to get an external link and that is Scott Rhea.



Your article is in visual mode, to make it possible click the Text mode of wordpress.



We are now in the text mode of ~Wordpress.


Click the Link Button


Make sure open in a link tab is clicked so the reader will open a new tab instead of leaving your website if they click the link.

Click the add link button to completely embed the link to your chosen phrase.



You can go back to the visual mode of wordpress to continue writing your article.

Now I want to teach how to insert internal links to your wordpress articles. The point of this so article will be recommended to related articles from the website to your article. This promotes your old articles and also promotes your new article to the older one. It helps you get a green ranking to the Yoast SEO.

This is the article that needs an internal link. There had been previous articles in the website related about the topic so the writer decided to use internal links.



Highlight the word or phrase that you want to have an internal link.

Click the wordpress text mode button


Once you are in text mode click the link button



Type the keyword on the search bar so you can choose which previous articles you want to link to your article. Once you choose the one of your liking click add link. Go back to visual mode and you can either publish your article and continue writing.

It help me to get more views every since I learned how to link and tag. I think tagging will be a different future article for now.

This is very well explained. I did use External Links o my WordPress Posts but I am not very sure about the Internal Links.
I will again check once I resume on WordPress.
I have been kind of dormant there due to many constraints on my personal time and activities.

From my side of view ,adding internal link on WordPress will help to get promotion unlike adding external link

Wordpress is open source platform and you can use it for everything including shortlinks. There is plugin for wordpress which automaticly converts all your links form article into shortlinks. You can use that or API code.
