Pop Online selling what is the process you will go through as a Newbie

Postby Netherrealmer » 09 Feb 2022, 12:38

I am an online seller now so I decided to share what I experience by far.

I will not name a specific selling platform because the best selling platform will be the local selling platform of your country. What is the best depends on the country.

To be a seller, You can use your actual account you use for buying or make a separate account for selling. I highly recommend the latter. Why? The seller's you gave negative ratings, may try to plot revenge against you and buy your product to give it a negative rating. So Make sure your selling account is separate from your buying account.

Once you make your seller's account. You have to take pictures of your products and make sure they look presentable as you upload them for your online store. You also have to choose the payment methods to accept. I chose online wallet, debit card, credit card, Bank account and the currency of the store. I refuse cash on delivery and checks because most scammers used those methods.

The Wavers and Plastic bags for delivery will be provided for free by the Riders or couriers who will deliver your product. You dont need to pay him, The customer already paid him with the shipping fee. You can tip him though if he delivers fast. Be nice to your rider because sometimes you will be stuck with the same guy forever. You cannot choose your rider so be nice to him or he will sabotage you.

For a first time seller though, You will need to buy your own plastics first, You also need to buy cartons and bubble wraps from packaging. Buyers are obsessed with bubble wrap, they will give you a negative rating if the item have no bubble wrap even if there is no damage.

If your product have faster expiration, ship it as fast you can.

If you are a beginner, don't sell internationally and dont sell to people from far regions of your country. Focus on your region first because things can get overwhelming for beginners. One you have the roster of products to sell, find items that is only available on your region. Items that are very cheap in my town can be sold 10 times more expensive in the big city!

You need to organize your products and make sure you are shipping to the right person. Do not sell low quality products because negative reviews will destroy your shop.

You don't need to make a website just use the existing selling platforms in your country.

This tips is worth gold. I remember when my husband and I decided to try online selling. We wanted to be able to offer free shipping but that was not possible for us when shipping outside the USA.

Yes fee shipping is only possible with near areas. I do not want people to pay 50 dollar shipping fee for a product that is like 3 dollars only.

When you sell fresh food as eggs, how you do guarantee it will come fresh to customer? Does your delivery service guarantee fresh eggs will be in colder space or it will not come broken in box?

If you want to sell online, you need to remember a couple of things, such as whether you should sell from your own store or ecommcerce platforms, whether you should sell your own products or outsource products, and whether you should also fulfill the order to use print-on-demand or drop shipping.

The reason I chose affiliate marketing was to avoid the responsibility of selling my own products.

Even digital products have negative reviews you have to provide high quality work.

Good tips. Personally I used the same account I used for buying because I hadn't given out negative ratings and I had a good rating as a buyer, but you are right, it's probably a good idea to keep them separate. That way if things go south you won't lose your buyer account. If you are starting from scratch I'd make a few small transactions first to get a good rating.

"The Wavers and Plastic bags for delivery will be provided for free by the Riders or couriers who will deliver your product."

That's not a thing here. You have to buy the packaging even with a courier, but you can pass that cost on to the buyer.

I save the bubble wrap from packages I've had delivered and reuse it. It's usually fine if you take the tape off carefully.

Yes, I have bought plant cuttings that were sent by post. One thing to be aware of though- you need to check that plants are allowed to be shipped to where you are sending them. In Australia certain states won't allow plants to be sent from other states, and of course this would be an issue if you sent internationally (assuming you live somewhere with other countries close by, so your plants won't die stuck in customs).
