How to make a trailer review

Postby Netherrealmer » 20 Dec 2021, 01:43

Trailer reviews are one of the easiest gigs freelance writers can get. Why? Every day there is a new movie, tv, and videogame trailers released on video platforms like Youtube and Facebook. You can make money by just simply watching a short video and making your analysis about it. It is even easier if you are a fan of a certain franchise because you can put your knowledge into good use. Sometimes even if you are completely clueless about a franchise, You can still make an article based on the plot you get to analyze from the video alone. I had been making a lot of dough from this and I decided to share some of my secrets. After all, I want to help some people here to make real money because a lot of members here said, they can't even make a dollar a day.

How to make trailer reviews?

1. Find the freshest trailers from Youtube or Twitter. I was able to get the latest trailers by subscribing to channels that release the latest trailers. I also subscribed to the official Youtube channels of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming platforms to get the latest trailers. Once I found a trailer, I will watch it right away because I want to be one of the first writers to write about it. Subscribing to channels that release trailers, Make me ahead of the competition.

2. Find the IMDB page of the movie. When you write articles about a movie, You must be able to name-drop the actors and other people who worked for the movie. Usually, when there are big stars, I will mention their past notable movies. You don't need to mention every single actor or director involved in the movie. You just need to get the lead roles and the notable ones. That's why in many articles you can read statements like " From the director of" or "This movie stars blah Blah from the hit movie..."

3. Speculate- This one is important especially if you are watching a video from a material you are not familiar with because you never watched it before. Tell the audience what do you think the synopses are all about the base from what you see on that short video. You can make realistic predictions and even unrealistic ones to keep your audience engaged

4. List down the scenes that left you an impression. The memorable scenes are what will make people interested in a new material that is coming out. As a critic, you need to list down the notable moments so people will keep reading your article.
5. At the end of the trailer mention the release date. It is a piece of information that could be a reason why people click your article so the release date should be a priority too.

I have not thought of Trailer reviews even though I have shared Trailer links in some discussions mainly on Mylot. These tips would be good for many folks here.

I think trailer reaction videos can help you get views and subscribers, if your reaction video is on a trailer of a highly anticipated movie.

I am waiting for viking second season and Game of Thrones prequel. I see a lot of trailer reviews on these shows. I think one of the easiest ways to get noticed on youtube is by doing trailer reviews.

I like to think of myself as a freelancer. But the thought never occurred to me that "Trailer reviews are one of the easiest gigs freelance writers can get." You have provided an excellent step-by-step process. If it is not against this forum's rules, can you share a link to a specific example of one of the trailer reviews that you did?
