Exercise and physical activity is the one of the most important and crucial thing if you want to improve your overall fitness. The fact that exercise or any type of vigorous (not too much vigorous) physical activity may improve your fitness is actually indisputable. However, the main problem is that nowadays people are not that physically active as they once one in previous decades. According to a study conducted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, almost 75 percent of Americans do not reach the minimum level of required exercise that is recommended by professionals.
Many individuals may think that a tough life with a tough job might be one of the reasons why they are not that physically active. These people are actually partially true. However, this is not entirely true. This is because people in the U.S. actually have 4.5 hours of extra time everyday to exercise, according to a study conducted by the RAND Corporation. The study was also published in the journal Preventing Chronic Disease.
Exercise Might Be Good For Your Bone Health
In one of my previous articles, I wrote about how you might reduce your knee pain. I actually wrote how running might be good for your knee health. However, it seems that exercise might not only be good for your knees, but it seems that exercise might be actually good for overall skeletal health. This new evidence comes from the Catholic University Leuven. This time study authors analyzed the effects of physical activity on overall bone mineral density.
A group of 13 year old Belgium men participated in the study, and the overall time period of the study continued for 27 years. After 27 years, the study authors found that the bone mineral density of physically active men was much higher than other groups of men who were physically inactive or participated in sports with less physical activity. The study authors concluded that physical activity is good for overall skeletal functioning.
Aerobic Exercise Might Be Better If You Want To lose Belly fat
Choosing the correct type of exercise is the key here if you want to set your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, then you should probably opt for aerobic exercise. This is because aerobic exercise is much better if you want to lose weight, according to a study conducted by the Duke University. Study author Cris Slentz found that subjects who opted for aerobic exercise lost more belly fat than subjects who lifted weights. This might be because aerobic exercise burns more calories than weight lifting. Now weight lifting offers its own benefits, of course. However, if you plan to lose belly fat, then you should go for aerobic exercise rather than lifting weights.
Conclusion
Physical activity is one of the greatest way to remain in good shape and improve your overall fitness. However, no one would have even thought about how beneficial exercise could be for your bones. However, now studies have unveiled how good it can be for your skeletal fitness. Moreover, opting for aerobic exercise can be beneficial for your belly fat if you want to lose weight.
