"The essence of knowledge is, having it, to apply it; not having it, to confess your ignorance."
In fact, knowledge is not something you should just be proud of, it should simply be useful for something or someone. If you don't know about something, make it clear to yourself and others that you are ignorant about that subject, because that way you will prevent yourself and others from making mistakes.
"When you see a worthy one, try to emulate him. When you see an unworthy person, then examine your inner self."
Most of us don't realize who we really are, so we should take care to not become an unworthy person. Other people are just like
mirrors that we can use to compare ourselves and see if we are more or less in the right path.
Sometimes, it may even be wise to keep some kind of contact with unworthy people, just to see how similar we are to them. If you
have stomach and are capable of being truly honest with yourself, you might be surprised.
Like Sun Tzu said, in the Art of War:
"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."
"When you are laboring for others let it be the same zeal as if it were for yourself."
This is an interesting one... In fact, most of us don't realize that working for others is kinda like working for yourself, because
when you do something for others, wether it be for money or not, the universe will always give back the results of your labor.
If you are able to educate yourself to see things this way, you'll probably get better results and feel a lot more gratitude when you
do any kind of work for someone else.
"The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask it is a fool for life."
Once again.. there is no greater obstacle to knowledge than pride. The proud is ashamed to confess his own ignorance and thus, he cannot improve his knowledge. When you accept your ignorance, only then you are able to transform it into knowledge.
"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a single day in your life."
Well, this one is well-known, but worth mentioning. This is very important, because most people see work as something painful that must simply be accepted in life, but they rarely stop to think that it can be changed, it can truly be adapted to make you a happier and more accomplished person.
