When it comes to having web presence, almost every business needs a website. And with website you need to have some strong codebase. Because every time you want to update your website you can get it done without much hiccups. So this is possible with the help of the CMS. And there plenty of those out there on the web. In this article I want to point out to some of the CMS options which you can use for the small business.
WordPress
This is currently worlds top most CMS that is being used in both small business and blog. And almost every website that is being presented here makes use of the wordpress. It is very easy to setup. Also the amount of time it takes for establishing the wordpress, is lot easier. You can extend it with easy wordpress plugins. You can make use of the wordpress CMS for your many website needs and also for establishing e-commerce.
Joomla
This is second most popular CMS out there. And they have plenty of good options for the business. You can find that a lot of business choose this CMS for some business specific usage. Though extending it is not as easy as the wordpress. But people still choose it and are using it for their business or the blog. I personally think that wordpress is lot easier and people should consider using it if possible.
Drupal
Just like joomla and wordpress, this CMS has it's own community. It is popular in business sites too. It can get you started quickly if you know how to use it. I have seen people making use of this CMS. And mostly it is for some static sites. I guess with enough efforts you can use it for the blogging as well. Overall I am happy with this CMS being easy like WP. But it may not be powerful like WP so it's upto you to try.
Ghost
This is another platform. It is purely meant for the blogging. But many business are choosing it for simplicity. You can use it with other plugins such as woocommerce and shopify. But overall a good option if you ask me. It can do things lot simple. I have seen some business making use of the ghost on front end. And they are using the backend with different system. So it can be good but requires some effort on our part.
Before you choose any CMS, make sure to try it out. Find out which CMS is lot easier to use. And see if you can make use of that CMS for your business. Otherwise moving to it may prove to be more troublesome in such case. I have found that some of the time things can not be that easy with the CMS, so try before you migrate.
