HR Managers might have time to ask this type of interview question for the sake of knowing you. This is the part where you need to set aside professional key strength and focus on the things that you love. You need to keep your answer very interesting because it is good to know that aside from being busy at work, you have something to do beyond it that you feel happy doing it. It is nice to know that you can juggle your time in your career and that things you love to do. You might not know you and the HR Managers have lots of common about the things you do, you might have a future friend on him or her, but first, what are you passionate about?

The Question is about Personal Interest
From the root word Interest, it means there is something interesting in it. You are asked to answer this one by telling your interest outside work. Do you do it for fun and to relieve stress? What are the things you enjoy to do? Does it make you become a better person? Does it make you a happy person? Are these activities changes your life? Did influence others to try it also?

Be thoughtful in your response. They want to know if their future employer has a life after working in the office. Of course, they want a happy person working in the organization. They want to know if you will do something to relieve your stress after a busy work. Your answer might give them an idea of some interesting activities, that in time, they will try it as well in the future. This is a type of question that allows you to be yourself, just like talking to your friend. You should describe it with enthusiast, carefree and still with professionalism.

If you found your passion or something that you like doing after work, share on how you dedicate your whole self to making it happen. Your response should tell something about your good traits, like having a perseverance, determine and being a goal achiever. Are you a member of a certain organization? How do you become a member? What makes you join in? What changes does it bring to you? '

Do not include something that will be the reason of your absence, though. These are like being in a theater drama because your passion is acting. You should not say we have theater screening during the weekdays and the rehearsals are every morning. If you are really into acting, might as well find another thing you are passionate about. For sure you have a lot.

I really like the sample answer you provided here. I never think ahead of how to word my answer for this question. I always talk about writing and it being my dream or my blog a bit during interviews but I don't go into great detail. I liked reading this it might gift me some new ideas on how to answer this a bit better in the future.

Instead of asking this question maybe that recruitment manager would get a bit creative and rephrase that question which we have heard hundreds of times. Ask for specific details and real life examples to know what the prospect's interests. On the other hand they should not be asking this question if not necessary.

Good way to answer, when the interviewer asked me what I am passionate about, I always answered that love baking, cooking and blogging which aren't related to my job either

I always meet this type of question when I am applying for Customer Service Representative before. From what I learned from an HR friend, they want to know other activities of their employees because the job is very stressful, they need to learn if they have something that they might do after work that makes the stress relieve.
