Side Business: Getting More Customers

Postby skysnap » 01 Mar 2017, 10:30

One of the hardest part about the side business is customers. If you get the customers and don't serve them well, you lose them. You fail to get customers then business gets closure. You have to work on word of mouth, paid presentation, ads and social media. So you can see that almost everything that you do gives you some leverage unless you work hard. Getting more customers is not an easy task. Another task is keeping them and making them to pay you on monthly basis. That's where things are going to be wrong. Here are some of the options for you to learn how to get more customers.

Craiglist

Posting ad on craiglist definitely helps to get some customers. You have to find out what are some of the options that you can try to get the ads out. Most people do try paid ads on craiglist. But often that may not work. So just start with the free option. One ad a day and then see what happens. If you can get good result then surely ad should be repeated on other sites. That way you can get regular customers. Most of the good customers these days can be found on cragilist but still be aware that there are some bad buyers too. So take one day at a time. And make the most of the focus on the satisfaction of customers.

Quora

People on quora are not easy to convert. But if you can provide quality answers then you can get some traffic to your service. Many people are working harder to get attention. And with answers on quora it is definitely possible to get that attention. You just have to work harder to not spam and appear genuine. The more genuine you remain better it is for you to make some money. That way you'd be able to tap into this type of high quality traffic. Do note that quora has it's set of trolls. And you'd definitely come across those who are basically going to put you down in answer. And then ignore and work towards your goal of acquiring customers.

Newspaper

There are some of the newspaper ads that can get you some good results. Many people are doing the newspaper ads and getting good conversion. I have found that newspaper ads usually convert if you are serious with the output. Many people have got some good customers. And doing work with the long term clients is something you should definitely approach. Short term clients through newspaper ads is definitely a possibility. You can also do the work with the newspaper banners. But they are going to cost a lot. But they are more effective to get the attention. I'd suggest trying that if you have some dedicated services.

Email Marketing

Put some optin on landing page. And then push this landing page on the Google adwords and Facebook Ads. This way you are going to get some good customers to optin to your page. And then you can market your services to them. You have to invest into the Mailchimp and other services. They may cost some money but your business needs to be taken seriously. And you have to build on that front. Email marketing is definitely one of the effective ways to build some following. I'd definitely recommend you to do just that. I don't think it's a good option for those who have no money. But if you have gained some money then it's time to invest into it.

These are some of the good options for getting you good traffic for your services. From here the role of the business is to just retain the customers.

My moms market has no type of advertising other then a sign about 1KM away that says "Fresh Local Produce Ahead" and at the end of the yard a large wooden sign wit an arrow letting people know where to drive in. For her it is word of mouth that helps and occasionally any post I try to make on Facebook. Now that she has been doing this for 4 years though it is creating a buzz for her so that helps.

For my blog I have thought of using Quora to respond to questions and such. I have not checked them out though to see if there is a profile where you can add your blog/website.

I have not tried Craigslist since it does operate in my country, I mean having their subdomain here like it happens in countries like UK, etc. But I hear people say good about it when it comes to selling and boosting like you talked about more clients. I am considering a VPN so I can test the benefits assuming I am not red caught and banned. Quora and Email, I have tried but with no much benefit.
