Bloggers complain how hard it is to get traffic,
And they should not,
Why,
Traffic is not something you get; traffic is something you are awarded after you follow the right paths.
On this piece I will teach you the basics of traffic,
The only basics that separate men from boys,
Follow them and Google will reward you with traffic, fame and fortune,
Disregard them and risk fading into the dark corners of obsolete bloggers who never get to see the light of day.
1. Publish high quality content
Quality content should have the following qualities
• Original and not copied.
Goggle has upgraded their algorithms and will punish any site publishes copied posts.
Make your content practical and actionable; write in a way that a reader can learn how to do something with your information as compared to just giving out tips.

• Answer questions
More often than not a reader visits your blog in search of answers and if your blog can’t provide that, be sure he may never come back.
• up to the point
Armature bloggers tend to write very long fluffy paragraphs, however if you want to separate yourself from this herd, make your paragraphs short, simple and up to the point.
2. Publish consistently
We humans are habitual creatures and operate on routine basis; that’s why we take coffee in the morning, read the newspaper first thing in the office and go to bed at 9pm. Similarly, your blog followers will expect their doze of information at a certain time.
Make sure you chart a workable schedule as failure to keep it may be detrimental to your traffic.
3. Write killer headlines
Headlines are your opportunity to make your first impression, and if you create compelling headlines you are bound to see a dynamic change in the traffic.
Research has shown that the title of a post contributes about 80% of the click through rate.
Headlines are so important copywriters advice you spend 50% of your content creation time writing them.
4. Cover trendy topics
Twitter has taught us the power of trending information. A post can receive millions of views riding on wave of a trend.
Find a trending topic on tweeter or any other social media site and find a way to connect with your niche topic and see it monsoon traffic towards your site.
5. Write conversations
The biggest favor you can give your blog post is to give a human friendly tone. Everybody likes to take advice from a friend or someone who feels as a friend.
While you may not be able to know all your readers, writing in conversational tone will make people feel at home on your blog.
6. share your blog post
Writing awesome content is 50% of the battle, but if nobody knows, the whole process could mean squat. Thus you must share your content with the right people.
There are different avenues you share your content, I suggest you start with simplest of them all: facebook.
I have shared good tips on how to get started with facebook groups on this post: here
7. connect with the big bloggers
Big bloggers have already done what you are trying to do; they have tested the market, the tactics and they know for sure what works and what doesn’t.
By connecting with them, you’re tapping into their wisdom and if you do it right you might even tap into their traffic.
Start by saying hi and appreciating what they are doing.
Try sharing some of their content and eventually ask them to share yours.
Amidst all these I still insist that quality content is the king, so strive for quality first and everything else will follow.
