Make Money Selling Ebooks

Postby skysnap » 04 Dec 2016, 09:06

If you are good at writing then you can make money selling books. There are plenty of websites that you can try for selling your book in their marketplace. And depending on the traffic you can get paid. These sites can pay a good amount of money depending on the content. So here are some of the sites where you can sell your books.

1. Amazon KDP

Amazon's kindle is leading device in ebook reading. And publishing the book on amazon can be really good experience. It can make you some good money as you write. It can earn you based on book sales and the page reads. So this is indeed a good program worth checking out. The earning can be low or high depending on the content quality. But so far a lot of people have made a good amount of money from this.

2. Smashwords

Another alternative to KDP is smashwords. You can release the book in epub, pdf and many other sites. I have found that they have good royalty rate. And they can pay some good money for the books released. They can do the release in other markets for you. However there is not much good earning collectively. So you have to choose where you wish to publish the book. And then make the changes accordingly. That's how I'd choose to publish the books.

3. Google Books

Though new authors can't sign up for this. But most of the publishing house are already in it. And they are publishing the books for the new authors. And so this can be another way to make good money by publishing for the android. I'd say it is one of the good books release program. And each month you get a good royalty as most of the publishing houses are releasing the royalty based content. which is something you can earn good money from.

4. Gumroad

If you want to set higher prices for your books, then gumroad is a good option. You can get the higher price for the book published. Also there is very less fees compared to other book hosting sites. And the amount of money that you can make through gumroad varies. So if you are into publishing the content through online sites then gumroad is worth checking out. I'd definitely say that it is worth trying if you wish to make money selling pdf books.

5. Ejunkie

Another site like gumroad. However here you have to pay some monthly fee for hosting your ebooks. So 5$ minimum seems to be the fee for hosting the content. You can get paid for the book directly. And there is no third party content issue. You can host the content in the zip file. You should definitely check this out. It has made many authors some money but you need to be very good with traffic to sale here. As ejunkies landing pages are not good for conversion for most of the books. So you may have to use your own landing pages on blog.

These are some of the ways with which you can sell the book. And then based on number of sales you can make some good amount of money. I'd definitely say these are some of the nice ways to make money.

Smashwords is a flexible and excellent alternative to KDP. Its strength lies in distribution: it allows you to publish your book in multiple formats, such as EPUB and PDF, and then distribute it across different platforms and marketplaces. This eliminates the hassle of managing each platform yourself. Its revenue rates are also competitive, making it an excellent option for authors who prioritize reaching a broad audience over exclusivity.

The downside, as mentioned, is that the revenue can appear scattered, distributed across multiple smaller sources rather than one large one. For this reason, many authors carefully consider whether they want the focused distribution offered by KDP or the broader, but less concentrated, distribution offered by Smashwords.
