Yes Men Should Cry

Postby Happyland » 14 Nov 2016, 10:09

Thank you to CharlesLaurenFilms on the video.
Crying is one of those things that come naturally for some people; in fact, crying is natural and normal but in many parts of the world men are taught not to cry. They are told real men don't cry (similar to how they are taught the color blue and sports are for males). In reality crying can be good for the health of men.

Wash The Eyes
One benefit of crying is it helps to provide a feeling of cleansing. Tears contain a chemical called lysozyme which can fight off infection. The eyes are in a very moist environment so having an antibacterial can help. When I was younger and certain foods were cooked, my eyes would get so irritated. I would cry and the problem would subside. Crying can drain tears and irritants out of the eyes and keep our eyes healthy--like leaving a fresh clean feeling. With healthy eyes he can see the soccer ball better. ;)

A Good Stress Reliever
Another benefit of crying is it helps to relieve stress. Stress can lead to a buildup of the hormone cortisol. Cortisol has the ability to break down muscle and cause a bigger abdomen area. The last thing a soccer player wants is to look down at the soccer ball and his abdomen is in the way. ;) Millions of us have had stressful situations at work but stress can come from many different causes aside from work. For example it could be caused by grief over the death of a loved, anxiety over an upcoming important exam, a bad report from the doctor, or frustrations in a relationship. On the opposite side there are tears of joy such as when a baby is born, a wedding or winning a major competition. When the stress (good or bad) begins to get overwhelming it can result in crying. When men hold back the tears they are keeping the emotions and stress bottled up on the inside. That is like a bird trying to fly while holding a heavy object. That bird will have to let go of that heavy thing or face a shortened life expectancy. It is better for men to let the tears flow and release the stress than to hold onto it.

Don't Worry Be Happy
Thirdly, sometimes crying just feels good. You just might feel more relaxed and calm after crying. Sometimes when I go for a run I feel good. It is like a runner's high. Maybe you won't feel "high" after crying but your heart rate will slow down and you will feel more at ease (even if the problem is still there). When you feel good you can play soccer that much better. ;)

It's Time
Go ahead and have a good cry. Most men were created with the ability to cry for a reason. Don't be afraid to use what you were given. After all when babies are born aren't they crying? Many newborn babies cry automatically. Perhaps this is the newborn's way of relieving the stress of transitioning into the world. Yes even the male babies.

Old School vs. New School
Most of what society taught in the past about gender is wrong or at least outdated. A man who is powerful and confident in himself will have no problem crying. For men crying should not be considered a sign of weakness but of strength.

I know it's for the best to just let it all out by crying. But, it might have been too late for me, for my ages. I'm not saying it's embarrassing to cry, no, but I kind of usually ended up keep all my stress or frustration hidden deep in my chest. In the first place, i am anti-social and very few person I've ever considered "friend" are a bunch of opportunist and backstabber. But, I'm trying to believe that by gaming off my free time, I can at least ease off the burden. Since i can still laugh off my problem, that is supposed to be convincing enough that I am still holding on alright

All of the men in my life are strong men. They don't cry on a whim. They don't whine or snivel over trivial matters. To see any of them with tears, is to instantly know the gravity of the situation. You know something is terribly wrong.

I also believe that men should cry. Everyone needs an emotional release at certain times. It's a very natural way to respond. Personally, I cry when I'm angry.

That being said, it's unhealthy for people to "stuff" their emotions. Let's live a healthy lifestyle where we allow everything to flow.

I got to know about this crying benefits from a doctor friend when I was telling my young son not to cry because he is a boy and the doctor told me the benefit why my son even as a male should let out steam once in a while. So those points are valid
