There is more to life than just capitalising on what we have learnt in schools and/or colleges.Classroom and beyond needs a second look
Most of us are gifted with talents which are brushed aside assuming that they are just there to give us some entertainment when we have free time.
Hobbies and talents need to be looked at as opportunities that could become earning propositions.
We read success stories of personalities that have converted their passion and hobbies into enterprises that are known worldwide. Here is a link that talks of a few

That is exactly what happened to me when my boss looked at the flowers that i used to bring to office, flowers that bloomed in my garden. He also appreciated the way I arranged flowers. My husband was one more who admired my art.
The trigger was when someone in the family knew a builder who was looking for a landscaped garden designer. I offered to take up that job. creativity being my forte I took the plunge. I put my heart and soul into it and in the process i realised that I was good at getting jobs done. It was a success. I was no draftsman nor an architects. I used graph paper to lay out the plan. The builder approved of it.

The image here is of that plan I drew on graph paper. The design had a badminton court, children's play ground, a fountain, arches, lawns, flowering trees flowering bushes, seasonal flowers and a rock garden.
Encouraged by it I started my business and roped in my niece as my partner to take care of the administrative side. She with her husband got me more orders.
This kept me on my toes till we shifted from the city to this semi rural town. I had no intention to continue as I was looking forward to a life of relaxation - just doing what gave me happiness in a leisured fashion. Retirement is all that. . Also age was catching up on me which slowed me down as designing gardens meant being there out with the sun till it decided to set.
Whatever the hobby or passion there is enough scope for anyone with ambition to get there and be a success. One could go full time doing it when there is enough evidence that it sells.
