How to Use Google for Market Research

Postby raaman » 19 Oct 2016, 17:30

There are lots and lots of ways to carry out market research. However in this article, let us know about Google and how to use this powerful tool called 'Google' to get people who may be interested in your products and services. Google as a single tool is enough to give you an idea of the size of your market and how to work out if you have any idea of a business with millions of dollars.

First, make use of the keywords tool to hit upon not only the ideas for good keywords, but also to check whether your keywords are searched for each month or not. This is a fundamental step to understand the process. However knowing what people are looking for is just as important. From there, you can learn how to dig deep to find that rich and largely unused keywords. What is regrettable about planning keywords is that it does not always show you the available words to search.

However, what is surprising about Google is that it will show you thousands of terms. Suppose, for instance, if you are searching 'horse training', and you know that it is also an important market, but all at once, you will find that it is very competitive. Now the problem is how to take a decision. What you are about to do is to search for keywords in your niche. Take, for instance, the fact that you will find a better horse trainer, or some books on horse training, horse clubs or more training methods and styles.

They are called "niche". If you keep searching deeply, it is very much likely that you will find the key words that are still untapped. Yet again, you have to make this point to find out the normal monthly search queries and carry on to move about in a way where we can compile a good list of keywords that we either want to align with the efforts of our search engine optimization or marketing campaigns. Now, for example, you may promote a product that will sell for twenty dollars and you may see that the total size of your target market is about fifty thousand.

If you do the simple calculation, you will find that twenty thousand times twenty is four lakhs. Your product has the probability of million dollars in the market. Obviously, you may not sell to third parties. However even if you decide to use only a small part of the market, it would be more than enough to get the benefits of a small business income online, no matter whether you want to quit your day job or not because it is the influence of online business.

Google is great for getting information on any subject. But if you have a product for a particular market or demographics, it is better to contact an agency that deals with this kind of thing. Quality market research can make or break a business.
